As a Houston fan since the start I think one thing they have that some orgs haven't had are super likeable rosters, even when they were losing I still enjoyed tuning in because of players like Jake, Danteh, Rawkus even, Piggy, and of course Pelican in recent years. I still wouldn't rank them higher than like 11 or 10, but think having key figures in an org that make people attached to your org is pretty important too

As a Fuel fan who stuck from the beginning until the end, the massive improvement truly was satisfying, like no words can describe. Not to mention having overall better achievements/legacy than the Outlaws... watching them ruin their brand after the league ended was funny as hell too. I know this isnt what this list is about really, but the hunters was one of my favourite orgs simply because they always played different than the other teams, it was just simply entertaining. Sometimes painful, often just a lot of fun to watch. They won my heart in the Among Ball era. It was so cool to watch.

Outlaws has way lower lows as a franchise tho the first 3 years they were a joke, Dynasty had 1 season below 500 both made 1 grand final, but Dynasty has made 3 stage finals to Outlaws 1 it’s close yeah, but Outlaws were only better during s1 slightly and this year obviously

Florida also was a bottom 5 team for like what... 3 years? Or something. That is worth being knocked off a bit. Glads only had 1 truly bad season, this last year, so I think it's somewhat fair. I think it's tough cause Glads are super consistent, but never won a championship, Florida won 1 championship, no tournaments and had a horrible few years. Like they nearly did as bad as the Dragons season 1.

They've set up a lot of their former players for success a lot of times, and apart from some instances with very poor coaching staff segretating players i think theyre a much more respectable org than the other orgs mentioned in 16-20.

From my point of view, Vancouver didn't have a good first season, Runaway did. They bought a roster and staff from some of the best owners OW has ever seen, and just coasted on all of that effort until it decayed and collapsed.

Reign should be ahead of Gladiators same amount of consistent tournament results, both have a mid season title and Reign beat Gladiators in the 2021 playoffs to make that grand final while Gladiators have been nowhere near one despite many stacked rosters, also Glads have lower lows while Reign hasn’t missed a playoff.

I mean true. But Dallas ALSO was horrible. If you remember. They finished only a little above Dragons season 1. And Fuel stayed bad for far longer than the Dragons. After season 1, Dragons won a tournament near every year they competed until 2023. I think it's hard to say the Fuel are better all time just because it took them 3 years and a complete overhaul to get going

glads above florida when Florida had the most dominant second half of a season ever (8-0 in the stage and only dropping 1 map in post season + MVP and COTY) feels a bit wrong to me, especially since Glads didnt have a single year where they played up to expectations for more than half a season, but I'll admit im biased

Glads are easily the most disappointing playoff team of all time they have NEVER gotten above 5/6 in 6 years and no one talks about how disappointing that is they had rosters with Shu, Kevster, Skewed, Reiner, Happy, and In 2019 with Decay, Void and they never live up there potential outside of tournaments before playoffs

@@baseebird If we take into consideration titles, players and moments then the gladiators are arguably top 3. Mayhem is a good team, but for most of its lifespan it was a joke. If they won a season that actually had hype behind it then, yes they would be a big team. In the other hand, glads provided with tons of iconic regular season and tournament matches, and had many teams that played the most entretaining overwatch of the league at the time. I think glads are clear, but only because mayhem are running from so far behind, if a few more seasons were able to happen then mayhem would likely be a giant of owl

Thats just recency bias. London did better than Glads in playoffs the last few years with a worse budget and florida was dogwater for the first 2 years and not much better than london in season 4. Florida does have a title, but so does london. London also has a stage win, of which glads have 2 (the mickey mouse one without dragons and fuel doesn't count) and florida 0, but glads never won gf or even made it there to begin with. London was trash for 2 years, but mayhem was trash for 3 and glads never peaked as high. I'd say the list is accurate.

So, his reasoning was sound though. They arguably made their fans go through worse than some of the other orgs.. they never really had ANY high highs, like at least teams like Charge did win once, and teams like Hunters also made it far in tournaments and were more relevant for other reasons.. Like it or not Defiant were not really all too relevant at all since they came into the league, not to mention the roster switching constantly, and even when it looked like they were going to make the playoffs, they ended up choking in the end. In an unbiased opinion, can you truly say that they would be ahead of too many other teams? Maybe they aren't dead last, but I think they are in that bottom tier no matter what.

Defiants never did anything noteworthy in 5 years of being in he league. They never even made a final, let alone win one and they have some of the lowest peak performances ever seen. They deserve to be at least bottom 3 if not outright last.

Big Disagrees: London - London's big thing is season 1 and winning the Grand Finals which should put them somewhat up there with the successful orgs at least, however they were irrelevant or bad every season since then basically. They have no accomplishments to speak for aside from making playoffs a few times. The org fell off a cliff after season one and I think I'd drop them closer to an NYXL or Hangzhou depending how much you value the one GF win. Atlanta - Atlanta always seemed to have very high expectations given to them by the fans which whether it was deserved or not reflected on how people would view the season for them. It feels like they would always find a way to disappoint when it came down to it and outside of assembling the avengers this final season they would've gone winless. Even then they ended up disappointing in the playoffs in the fashion that they were dispatched. It just feels hard to rate a team that had so little success over the years and constant shortcomings. Small Disagrees: Shock/Dragons - I think the consistency of success is a big reason I have the dragons above the shock all time. The shock did win 2 GF, but the dragons won so many tournaments over the course of the OWL and they were even able to grab 1 GF themselves. On top of all of that even when going 0-40 where most teams would be hated and there would be calls for people to lose their jobs they never lost the people, they remained a crowd favorite through thick and thin which very few teams can say they've done. (Only other example I can think of in owl was the Titans and their bread sticks 🍞). Hunters - I think I'd just swap Hunters and Boston, both saw minimal success in terms of winning anything, but both also had highs where they were competing with the best of the best. All I can say is that at least one of these orgs made it to the final season. Charge - I miss when it wasn't painful to watch this team, give me 2020 Charge back.

So London was not bad or irrelevant the past two years of the league. They literally knocked out the super star team of Atlanta last playoffs. Teams were SCARED of them honestly and they showed why. They did have really 2 bad years of rebuilding in 2020 and 2021 though. 2019 wasn't even that bad, it was just Goats and London was never going to thrive in that meta with having to put Profit on Brig and Birdring on Zarya etc.

If you talk about consistency about shock/Dragons you should mention that Shock has the most wins in general and the highest winning percentage ever and fewest loss from a team of 2018, Shock definitely has better consistency, Dragons only have more tournaments won and also in a weaker region. Not to mention, they were the only team to go to playoffs more than 2 times. So your consistency argument isn't really valid, seems more like favourism which is also fair

Your points are fair except when it comes to London, you're high on some shit there. London ended top 5/6 in the playoffs the last 2 years and both years they comfortably upset a great team to do so, along with beating all the middle teams consistently. In 2019 they still finished top 7 regular season with some 6-1 stages and made the playoffs by beating the most recent tourney winners (dragons) to get there. On top of that they won season 1 grand finals and also stage 1. They have the playoff performance, coming back from covid/rebuild years, the stage title, the gf win and some big upsets. 2020 and 2021 sucked for sure, but most teams had years that sucked. Florida was trash for most of the league and glads never won anything to begin with. It seems crazy, but you can't really argue they should be any lower than they are on this list.

Too many people rate the beginning seasons too much because they played so much IMO, competition is later years has improved significantly to the point where season 1 players could arguably not compete .
