He can become top 15 at the end of this year, he's already #35 and will make a lot of points from the following tournaments as he just played Cinci last year and US Open, he can easily get top 25 or 20 even 15 like I said

Big thumbs up.👍 Tennis players are in such fine shape and I'm always wanting to learn as much as possible how they eat because I abuse food and I'm trying to eat healthy. I'm in my late '50s so one key difference is even with workouts I must eat less. Can't get away with much at my age. Still, Ben and the other top players are such an inspiration in how they take care of themselves. Thanks ATP Tour and Ben for this video. Good luck to Ben! It's hard to see what his future holds in tennis but he sure looks good and I love his smile and spirit.

I mean this shouldn't be your baseline then. He's young, and his diet isn't crap but is far from being optimised for performance (there's still is a lot of processed food, and loads of meat). Tennis players aren't known to be the healthiest. They can get away with it cause they burn so much, playing week in week out, but it will eventually catch up. Model someone like Djokovic, he's at "retirement age" for Tennis and still is fitter than any of these youngsters. Vastly due to his diet and dedication to the sport.
@smurfette1509 Жыл бұрын
@@MrSuperOurs You are so right with everything you wrote💯👍. I guess my comment wasn't great, I admit. I've seen a few videos on how tennis players eat, including this one, and I was stunned that it wasn't all that healthy. I guess I figured they get away with it so maybe it's good enough that they appear not be downing boxes of Twinkies or a package of chips or cookies (something I used to do without a thought).😆 I would assume Djokovic and the other goats really do eat well. I'm not a fan of Djokovic but the guy is amazing. I'm curios how Alcaraz eats. I have a hunch his diet is the real deal.
@MrSuperOurs Жыл бұрын
@@smurfette1509 I'm trying to better myself as well! I wasn't the healthiest of kids, but since my early 20s, I have been on a health quest, trying to be a better version of myself. Eat whole foods, avoid processed foods, and if you eat meat, limit to a minimum (definitely avoid red meat and processed meat like bacon and sausage etc...). Of course, enjoy your treats or whatever you crave occasionally. Regarding Alcaraz, his coach JC Ferrero was one of the fittest guys on the tour, and he's still super fit so no doubt Alcaraz's diet is looked after. Good luck in your journey!
@smurfette1509 Жыл бұрын
@@MrSuperOurs Thanks so much for wishing me well and your advice sounds great (and I'm doing it all). Proud of your efforts and so glad you have a firm understanding of how to eat well. I'm trying my best too. Probably still at a healthy weight after eating more food lately. Was down to the point where my internist advised me not to lose any more! Lab results are the best ever. They are fine for the first time! Far from the days when I had fatty liver and my gastroenterologist said I had to lose 15 to 20 pounds or else. I was getting warnings about my kidney health, I was pre-diabetic, labs were awful. I learned that artificial sweeteners were making my appetite intense. Glad I dropped sweeteners completely (and avoid sugar added foods except rare times when I cheat a bit and add honey or maple syrup...have adjusted to food not having to be so sweet). I love that I bake my own bread now with a variety of healthy flour (of course a little maple syrup when working with yeast). Alternate between chicken breast and fish every other day. Overall meat consumption is way down but still have some every day. Lots of fruits and veggies, beans, seeds, nuts. I enjoy what I eat. I do have my bad days or even a few weeks when I eat too much but still living at a much lower weight than I ever have before as an adult. I've noticed Ferrero's in good shape too so that does add hope that Alcaraz is doing it right. Good luck to you too 💗Watching so much tennis gave me the motivation to make dietary changes.

Hmm...definitely rethinking my dislike for this guy. Aside from the Novak USO match and the prematch arrogance, seems like a good dude. Seems like I'm not alone in forming an opinion about him based on that, but I think in the span of 6 months he's matured significantly. Can't deny the guy is a massive talent, the only thing keeping him from being a surefire multi-Slam winner is the presence of Alcaraz and Sinner.
