First & foremost I want to say thank you for putting out the guide to HLG Meanwell Drivers! I'm a novice and you made it so easy to understand. I found your channel after I bought a Atreum ARA-20 light kit, then I saw this Atreum review & hoping that you would show you set up the driver. With that being said, in Pt 4 of your meanwell guide, you explained how you set yours up. I'm completely stuck on how to get/set my desired current from the electrical characteristics of the ARA-20 light bar & there are 3 total. Your knowledge & help has been & will be greatly appreciated.

These numbers and uniformity are insane for the hanging height and wattage, I simply have to try some out. Looking at the design I was not expecting uniformity quite that good with such a large gap between boards but they have clearly figured out a way to distribute that typical LED hot spot very well with that configuration.

I've been sold on these lights right since the day I first saw this review! Not seen this kind is uniformity of spread anywhere else. These are gonna be my first lights for sure 🙂

Great video! I actually purchased one of these a few months ago after watching this video. I got the 320W version and my plants are loving it. I have a question though: when shipped, one of the plastic bits that attaches the wires to the quantum boards over the top was broken but the light works so I didnt think anything of it. I just now noticed that the middle quantum board is dimmer than the other 2 by probably 25%. Is this intentional or should I talk to their support team?

Hi Ryan, could you help me find a link online where I could purchase a DC extension cord with black jacket for an HLG 300L and HLG 600R? I can only find red and black wires online without the black jacket. Also do you know what size waterproof junction connectors I need for both lights? Trying to extend the driver out of the tent.

I found a couple options, do you know the gauge, the volts and the connector size?

I don't like giving too much advice on custom electrical stuff like this because I don't want to risk making a mistake and having things go south for whoever's doing the work. What you'd need to do is figure out how much DC current is passing through the wire and size your new wire to accommodate it. This could be done with a multimeter or by looking at the driver data sheet. Keep the cable as short as you can so voltage drop doesn't become a problem. This can also be mitigated by using thicker cable. A common waterproof connector for this is the LLT-L20.

they advertise osram reds but the boards are clearly marked as cree xpe 2 reds. wich is a far less eficcient diode. wich also begs the question, are the "samsung" diodes really samsung at all? because if you pause on the correct time, you can see the "gold wires" inside the white diodes, a telltale that those are not original samsung diodes.

Editing my comment for clarity: I had asked Atreum for clarification on this as well and they confirmed the reds are Osram - there was a design change that never got corrected on the PCB labelling apparently.
