+twdeneka From a musician's perspective it's not interesting, it's a format that is way overused, artists get away with it because it sounds good, but it's clear that they aren't passionate enough to put in the extra time to make something that is really unique to them.

So there's no passion because of their writing format??? huh? really? I guess there's passion when 1-2 ppl in a band sits in front of the computer for days writing complex polyrythms with a drum program around the 4 and working it out for months and months ,layering, adding and changing.... "Here guys... learn this" "may take a few months but it's soooo bad!" Learn to like bands for what they are and what they've done.... 1st step in growing up.

While I agree with what you're saying regarding djent, I think what the original poster was getting at is there isn't anything super unique or original about this song. They're just rehashing their old material and not moving the genre forward.
