I have been listening to Atreyu since 2004, going to school in 6th and 7th grade jamming SN&BK, then evolved into the three albums thereafter. The band wasn’t trying to be anything more than what they were. I sit back looking this new music, and I understand why they’ve gone down this path. They’re not in their teens or 20s just trying to have fun. They’re wanting to make this a long term career. I don’t fault them for it. Being a father and a teacher, I understand the importance of needing to perform and excel in my decisions to better setup my family. I wouldn’t want people telling me that I’m making the wrong decision when they’re not informed or involved in my life, so I wouldn’t do that to these guys. All in all, it’s not the same sound... but it is the same band. It is what it is. I’m still going to continue building and collecting their shirts from 02-07, and jam the old stuff... cause they gotta do what they need to do to continue living their lives comfortably.

Wish they still sounded like how they did on ADGOY, that album felt like a more mature version of their first two before they started sounding more mainstream. It felt like a more refined metalcore sound for them. Now, I don’t hear the metalcore roots anymore which I preferred but I understand bands evolve.
