I'd like to take a moment to clarify a few things. We're not rich suburban kids and have had to work for everything that we've invested in the band (instruments, amps, this video, etc.) As for my education, I already clarified that I was not gloating and was defending myself as a musician. We're a genuine band following our passion, not trying to make a quick buck. We don't have label support and money rolling in.

Thank you, I just hate it when people say that bass is a guitar and that it requires a lot of talent in this type of music. It just doesn't so therefore it is easy to sing at the same time because it's not as complex as it is in other genres of music. c:

you can use picks also when you're playing bass in most cases people are doing it to get the sound of the bass louder and for fast passages it's much easier to play with a pick instead of using your fingers

As a bassist I can agree to that. wwhile in essence its not really a big deal on the louder thing anymore, yo can play A LOT faster with a pick. Personally I know how to play finger pick and slap, and I interchange between them. Though In my band, i do play mostly pick these days

Yeah I've been writing my own stuff for a couple of years now but haven't really got any way to get it out there yet. We need more passion in rock and metal lately. This band is obviously having fun with what they do and I admire that but the rough-sided aggression that made rock infamous in it's heyday is missing from so many new bands. Somebody needs to bring the fire back!

I'm the vocalist for the band Autumn Stay. I went to music school and have been singing since I was very young. I'm 24 and I'd just like to say, no matter what anyone else says on here, y'all have a great thing going on. Whether it reaches a 5 year old or a 90 year old man, as long as ONE person can feel affected by your music you achieved your goal. Music is meant to be shared, loved, and enjoyed. People don't enjoy it? They don't have to listen! Simple. Do what you love. Ignore the rest.

My qualifications for saying such with ease are that I have been a violinist for 15 years, studied music theory for just as long, went to a renowned music college, and have been a private music teacher for quite a while. But perhaps you're the prodigal descendent of Vivaldi and could teach me a thing or two.
