CJ was born to write. I love her voice and I love her style of singing and screaming, but as much as I love her sound, I love what she says even more. I really hope she continues performing or at least writing, even if it’s poetry or something. I need more of her insights in my life.

I miss CJ so much and wish I could get to see them live with her. It was heartbreaking that she left the band, but I can understand her struggles. Her words and voice are so beautiful and needed. They inspire me. I hope one day she is able to bless us with both again. The Recovery EP will always be one of my faves.

@midnight-20216 жыл бұрын
@@jacksonmasco this is the same sound that I hear when I do listen to radio crap. New songs that I hear on the radio and the music from this band are bland and therefore boring. The best and most creative new music for me has been from my own research on KZbin and other internet websites not the radio. But this band isn't one of them. The newer bands that I personally like from the last decade plus are mostly from Europe and these bands mix classical, folk and other styles of music with rock and metal. Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation, Arch Enemy, Eluveitie, Cellar Darling and many others blow these newer radio bands of the past 15 years away in creativity. The Japanese band, The Wagakki band, that I discovered this year blew me away with them mixing western style rock, metal, progressive and American pop with traditional Japanese folk. And my favorite American artist that I discovered this year is Samantha Fish who is a blues artist that mixes rock, American and old school country & western in her music besides her playing traditional blues. I will still listen to radio from time to time hoping that I will find good new music from new bands but a majority of the time I am disappointed.

She's not actually that original. Other female screamers and singers use the exact same vocal techniques as she does. She's not terrible, but she's certainly not that original.

@@BlueRaven893 Right. To be fair, there are only some many techniques 1 can use or variations on them. Plus some people just sound similar. There is nothing they can do about it. OP just doesn't get it. And yes, she clearly sounds similar to Flyleafs sound. Its possible they took inspiration from them and thus why they sound alike. Sounding like Flyeaf doesn't have to be a bad thing.

@@milowolfface9392 I completely agree. It's not a bad thing to do the same thing as someone else, just with a different spice. I don't care for the music too much, but I can see the potential talent this group has.

I remember first getting into metal. This song was probably the 5th song i really liked when i was getting into metal. I am now in a band and listening to this makes me happy and sends shivers down my spine every time i hear this. Keep rockin!

A few days ago I once again came back to this song and in the process asked myself why? You see, before listening to dream state for the first time i had been listening to metal since almost 30+ years, mostly male singers. But that stopped the day where I stumbled on you CJ, that day you blew my mind with your raw power. After you came bands like Spiritbox, or Future Paradise and more. But you were the key. You had your reasons to leave and I’m not here to judge. But I want you know that you got a real talent, you can’t fake a voice like yours. Don’t give up, we will wait.

I remember seeing this when it came out, and I got the ’small band’ vibes but the song was good. Never listened to them again but this popped up now years later and I’m so happy to see these guys made it way bigger.

Flyleaf saved my damn life. My freshman year I replayed the Shi out of “All Around me” “Cassie” “fully alive” “sorrow Again Missing And a few others

@@80Facepalm08 probably the reason this isn't that great to me 🤔 Thanks for reminding me of that band. And also, that this is basically just a knockoff Flyleaf b-side.
