This is an excellent video for all to watch. Now I even more understand why all these filters should be removed from a diesel system. One day the King's ransom will come to an end. I commend you for taking this issue head on in order to make our diesels better in the future!!!

Thank you for making these! I drive a 2002 and someday it may be forced on me to add this shit, so it is good to at least semi understand it. I also enjoy seeing aftermarket upgrades coming out, gives me hope for the future. I love the environment, and I have zero issues making my truck cleaner. But the rules need to be fair and the products need to exist to do it...

I don’t have a problem with the emissions system, I have a problem with the unrealistic count down mandated by the epa. If something goes wrong, I will fix it, that being said it may not be with in 150 miles! I need to get home first! Unfortunately the countdown left me stranded and I had to delete the entire system. Shame on the EPA for the countdown till 5mph!

Well done, thank you. So it appears that the biggest problem in the system is the DPF, and that is the least polluting portion of the system. I have wondered about just having cartridges you pull out, dump the spot in the trash and put back in.

Great video. I have a 2013 Ram diesel with only 50k miles on it. At around 30k it started giving me messages to have the DEF system serviced. After a while the messages go away and come back regularly. On my vacation a warning came on that in 300 miles the 15mph cripple will happen. I drove on and after a few of these messages they stopped and I continued on my 2500 mile vacation trip. I want to delete my truck and reprogram the computer. However after watching your video it seems that instead of removing and replacing the exhaust system, I could just drill out the DPF. What do you think?
@wtbman

Nope. ECU will notice the lack of back pressure at the DPF and cripple you. You could stealth delete by drilling it out and changing tuning.

With the filter... What causes a malfunction? Is there anything I could do to fix it? I've got my 2014 Ram 3500hd cummins the wife filled with gasoline. I got everything cleaned out and running great but now getting the alert the filter is 100% filled. Another alert now is going in limp mode in a few miles. Need to take to dealer for DEF repair. With the gasoline going through crap and now getting these alerts, am I pretty well screwed and about to be paying up close to the 10,000$ to repair this truck?

Last summer I was towing my boat and looked in the passenger mirror and there was slight black smoke coming out the back I was slowly loosing boost. I pulled off the road had my pops come grab the boat, after an hour with the truck sitting there I fired it back up and it was still the same I took off and drove the truck back to his place about 10 miles away I was rolling coal on a stock truck. I had an injector that was stuck open that’s why I was rolling coal not a bad turbo. I had gotten the exhaust manifold hot and it warped. I took off the exhaust system as well it wasn’t too bad to do and cleaned it with a vacuum and air compressor and then a dpf liquid cleaner. Bad turbo = white smoke, lack of boost = warped exhaust manifold, you may have a crack in the honey comb in your dpf system. What’s your truck acting like? The mechanic charged me $1,300 to get the exhaust manifold redone with new gaskets.

I appreciate the impressive engineering here, but I'd still rather see a $500 annual "vehicle enthusiast carbon permit" because 200,000 people burning diesel in an open pit instead of driving thier heavily tuned trucks will still be less polluting than the Amazon and Walmart shopping an equivalent number of people do annually, buying everything from heavy pollutant countries is apparently fine with the EPA. All the unrestricted diesel enthusiasts in the world combined would still not add up to .01% of what emissions seaborne transport just to the USA creates annually, not even including the actual production of the goods on those ships🤦‍♂️

@ATSDieselPerformance
@ATSDieselPerformance 4 жыл бұрын
Crown Lifestylist our 2015 running 650-700hp just passed emissions in Colorado with .01% opacity. We are installing all the testing equipment to begin emissions testing in house. 800hp is the top end of where you will see some soot loading. As with most high horsepower vehicles there are some trades off at the highest power levels and can be turned up and down accordingly depending on application. Go up to 800hp for the track, maybe knock it down to 650-700hp to tow and DD. Again, let’s remember they are ZERO other legal options like this on the market.

I could deal with a 100,000 mile service interval, although not fantastic having to spend a grand to service the exhaust, its the EGR that is the thorn in my side. Putting raw exhaust back into the intake is a deal breaker. Why not run ALL of the exhaust through....well, the exhaust! Running an EGR to me with the so-called advances they are making these days, its not well thought out. EGR's strip life from a Diesel engine.

Lol he said clean exhaust. The DEF is killing vegetation around road ways because of the ammonia. Then add the fact that you are burning more fuel during regen as much as 50% more. As the trucks get older they go into regen a lot more often. Sorry but a clean tune with all that shit removed is far better as mpg go up a ton.
