No worries Harvey! The game options keep growing and there is more and more to learn with every update. Little by little it doesn't seem like much. Taken as a whole over 2 or 3 years it's a huge change. I imagine we'll see some more cool stuff come out this year. Cheers my friend!

Mirror resolution is a fun one. Simply put Medium is where you want it. Lets say you're using 2k or 4k resolution in the game itself - Mirror resolution is double. So if you put it on high, your mirror resolution will be 4k or 8k. Which is why a lot of computers struggle. Set to medium, it matches your monitor resolution setting.

So far so good sir. I’m not sure of the head-turn-with-blinker selection though. 😆 That’s messing me up but I’m going to keep trying it. My FPS are up since changing my settings. I haven’t had a chance to go thru a big city yet as I’m discovering ReCon & Driver 47s little gems in Montana. Thanks again bud. Take care. Maybe in the future there’ll be a Hat Creek Cattle Co in tribute to Lonesome Dove.🤔🤞

@@ZekenStreak thanks for getting back to me with an early report on your settings progress. Let's hope it works in the city's too.

I dropped the refresh rate back down to 60 Hz & it smoothed out the FPS for sure. In the city or built up areas the FPS drop down to 57 but out on the hwy it can climb back up to the mid 70s. Thanks for the guidance. It’s working out very well. Cheers from next door.
@danmcnarry Жыл бұрын
I'm glad it worked out Zeke! It's nice when you can squeeze a little bit of smoothness out of the game. It can be distracting and take away the immersion. Once that is out of mind you can get back "into" it!

The slider change that is coming with 1.48 is my favorite from the upcoming update. It'll be much easier to set things up. Maybe they could add a question mark to explain what a certain setting does in future. That could be helpful. An advice if I may give one, maybe put sections/chapters on the video like "gameplay" "audio" so people might watch what they're interested in. Really nice tutorial Dan, I watched mainly for the audio setting so thanks a lot!

I always have fatigue turned off, and the increased delivery time mod activated. I drive to enjoy my driving, look at stuff, some screenshots, maybe check out some of them videos you can at the camera icons, and not have to be constantly stressed doing it. I stress enough as it is RL at times, no need to add it in game too. I tried it a long time ago in ETS2, but didn't like it much. Not been on since, in any of the games. Honestly, the game play side of the, well game, never really interested me. If I want that, I have other games. I'm here for the trucks, and to just enjoy driving them!! Yesterday I finished a drive to Cache Creek, Northern Montana from out west, Coleville I believe it was...night time. I understand exactly where you are coming from Dan with the night driving, the music, your thoughts, all in your own little world, your bubble as you call it. Pretty cool, yeah. Not only in game. See, I have done some truck driving too, co-driving, up and down the Swedish west coast, back in the day, mid-late 80's. Big old Scania trucks with long trailers. Almost all of it night driving. I know the feeling. I use "Rest Period for ATS v2023.04.13" by Vinnie Terranova over on the SCS forums. Seems to do the trick and adds a lot of delivery time.

VR is the way to go unless it makes you nauseous . As a retired driver a direct drive wheel base with a 330mm or larger wheel is the way to go. Other peripherals for immersion is z906 surround sound and Buttkicker pro.

The problem with Detours is that, in real life, you'd be routed to a surface road for maybe a mile or so then back on the highway. The trouble is, the game doesn't have that big of an infrastructure of surface roads to support that, so you end up being routed literally hundreds of miles out of your way. 1:05:00 Streetlamps or streetlights. 🙂
@danmcnarry Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Nicely put. Thanks!
@AstralDragoon Жыл бұрын
When I first started playing this game, I wanted to keep detours and road events turned on for the sake of immersion. That ended when I encountered a blocked freeway and a "detour" that just dropped me back at the same exit where it started. Had to off-road around it and was within about two real-time minutes of a late delivery. I'm still a bit sad to have them deactivated, but it's better for my blood pressure.

SCS needs to FIX the problem with the pedals on gaming wheels not working properly. I gave up on trying to fix the dead zone problem on ETS2 after trying repeatedly to change the settings in the Logitech profiler from combined axis pedals to separate axis pedals and back again and it's still giving me problems with the accelerator being effectively stuck to the floor. I saw another older video recently where the person used the in game setup wizard and it seemed to work for them but it doesn't work for me. Also he had his pedals set to inverted rather than centered or normal.
@danmcnarry Жыл бұрын
Have you tried inverted? I set mine up with Game Hub then close that, test them with the Windows USB and Game Controller app then run the game and they work every time.

I use his updated version myself, with a couple of my own tweaks. The Nvidia cards do an excellent job at replacing the very dated in-game settings. Ats only uses one core, so I also use task manager to only use two cores, instead of 8, and that eliminates all in-game stuttering
