I would love to see this beast paired up with UP #4014. There would never be enough video footage of that.

Oh my GOD of All Machines! What a smart and *well-behaved* locomotive! I know its unburdened but still the responsiveness of that loco to throttle and break inputs between 3:50 and 4:27 is *unbelievable*!

Great to see ATSF locomotive 2926 back in operation again and hopefully this year the locomotive will have a chance to finally start hauling excursion trains.

A magnificent locomotive! Now, I hope a AT&SF Texas 2-10-4 is restored to run the rails again!

2926 rules the New Mexico Rails once again!
@richhood9934Ай бұрын
@@timdouglas8800 Unfortunately, 2926 probably won't be running on the Transcon anytime soon except for ferry moves, but hey, if it can put in regular appearances on the New Mexico state-owned line north of Albuquerque, or at either Sky Rail or the Grand Canyon Railway, that would be awesome too!!
@jlawsl17 күн бұрын
@@timdouglas8800 But aren't we all glad that a lot of effort has been made to take these beautiful machines out of storage or museums and let them run again? I love seeing them start running. They breath, they struggle, they seem to almost be living machines. That, along with their power and design makes these steam locomotives some of the best preserved, pre-computer machines that we have left.

I hope this year they can run an excursion, it would sell out, even at $500 a seat.

No, Big Boys have a 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement. 2926 is a 4-8-4 northern.

It's bigger and heavier. It has a larger tender as well.

the 2900s were way fatter then the 3751s. You can see it in the boiler diameter. Id reason they were a good bit stronger too.

Last I read (early last week), 2926 and 3751 are to receive the same FRA-approved PTC equipment that is currently being used on CP 2816

@@chooch1764Yay! That's awesome. Hopefully, in that case, while mainline excursions might not happen, at least it can then do mainline ferry moves to visit willing shortline and excursion railroad hosts

@@richhood9934 I heard the society is partnering with the state of New Mexico and eventually operate mainline excursions on NM DOT tracks.
