You can also use Sockets to establish a trace point on a weapon between two or more points. In the case of swinging a sword, you would get the location of both sockets on the sword and activate a trace so that while the sword is swinging, you can determine if there were any hits that the sword has done to another object. You would then turn off the trace when the swinging animation has completed.

You did not mention or showed my problem in the video, but you gave me the idea how to fix my problem with the video.. Been searching for a solution for 3 days, and all I had to do was, drag my weapon's skeletal mesh over the DefaultSceneRoot to replace it...

Is there a way to do this without a 3rd Person Character Blueprint? My character doesn't have one and I'm only creating cinematics, not full games.

How can I achieve consistent one-directional turning in Unreal Engine? Currently, when my character halts and I input commands like pressing A, D, W, or S keys, the character rotates unpredictably, sometimes from left to right or vice versa. I want the character to turn smoothly in one direction only, such as from forward to backward by rotating to the right side only, and similarly for left and right turns. Should I create key-specific functions that activate only under specific circumstances? If so, how can I implement them?

Hi there! I'm not sure I'm getting your problem right. Are you trying to "force" your character to always rotate clockwise regardless of the required rotation amount?

@urtoisAnim Yes, Is it possible to do so? May be by creating some function or by something else. My quad locomotion system is based on Root-Motion System and I have used 2d blendspace for walk>trot>run and their respective turnings left/right. Everything works fine but when my character stops and I use W,S or A,D keys for 180 turns, capsule component rotates randomly irrespective of the triggerred turn animation. I want the capsule and the turn animations to follow along. That's the exact issue I am facing. Will you be able to help me in this please?
