Attaching and detaching the boat from your trailer with your winch

When launching the boat, shouldn’t you remove the safety chain BEFORE removing the winch strap? Otherwise, if you’re on a steep ramp where the boat may slide back on its own, all the weight will be on the safety chain.

Its known as a bow eye or towing eye or also a Bow U bolt
