10/10 the most soothing and calm voice with the accent, I could listen to this to fall asleep. Not because it’s boring though, I thoroughly enjoyed the video! But because your voice is just SO nice and even lol! Thanks for the help regarding moss attachment!

Thanks bud, I'm hoping so. I like that flame moss, it should stand up a bit more off the tubes than the likes of Java Moss which tends to spray out in all directions. Thanks for the comment homes, appreciate it.

If you're using lava, hammer some out to a course powder, then when you have that excess super glue throw it on to cover the white. I guess if you wanted you could use black sand on your tubes. Like you said it'll get covered, but it sucks while you have to wait sometimes. Good video, thx mate

Dear Daniel: Most sites online suggest that celestial pearl danios (Danio margaritatus) are strictly tropical fish that need something between about 68 and 80°F. However, examining the average weather of the parts of Myanmar from which they hail, reveals that the temperature dips into the low 60's or even high 50's, for four months straight. For this tank, I’d remove the heater, as neither the CPD’s or the shrimp need one. I find I get the best results with Java moss (Vesicularia dubyana) using black thread to tie it to driftwood. Thank you for sharing this interesting and informative video on attaching flame moss (Taxiphyllum) to these, fine products and ornaments. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar

Yes I definately feel there is more wiggle room in the temperature we maintain our tanks for several reasons. Unfortunately it can get very cold here especially on winter nights when the heating is off. I have experimented with running a shrimp tank with no heater but Unfortunately there were casualties so I need to keep heaters even at reduced temperatures because as you say fish and shrimp can tolerate them and usually frequently do in the wild. Thank you very much for your thoughts and suggestion bud.

those are some super cool plant ledges....problem with turtles is they tear everything up so you gotta be careful....we are renovating every single one of our tanks right now and trying to make them more and more turtle proof hahaha.....we love em but they are ornery little beasts and it's a challenge but it's a fun one!

I might sound dumb but what kind of grass or plant can I put on the bottom of my tank ? So it can stick and such.
@DanielKeepingFish
@DanielKeepingFish 2 жыл бұрын
Depends really. If you're looking for a grassy look for a bigger tank Dwarf Sagitaria is a nice option. Grows pretty quick. For a smaller tank Dwarf Hairgrass (Eleocharis Acicularis) looks great but can take a long time to grow. If your not using Co2 probably want to get a fair bit of it to start up your grass carpet. You can find both pretty easily in stores or online. Better still if you're part of a local or Facebook, etc fish group ask if someone can send you some to start you off. If folk have Dwarf Sag they generally have some to spare since it grows so quickly.

I heard you have to wait 7 days for glued things to cure and be allowed into water, or else stuff in the glue will leech into the water. How do you wait a whole week without the water dependent plants drying out and dying?
@DanielKeepingFish
@DanielKeepingFish 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure that's true. As long as you're using glue which has cyanoaccrylate as the main ingredient I'm sure it's safe to use right away. I do and I haven't had any problems using it. I'm not saying whoever told you that hasn't run into problems but I'm guessing there was a very specific set of circumstances that led to their issues. If in doubt I would always advise erring on the side of caution but like I say I have used this type of glue many many times in my aquariums and it's been fine.

It was but any superglue with Cianoacrylate as the main ingredient should be fine. Gel type is way better because it doesn't run.

I don't think it matters too much. Long as the glue is superglue with cyanoaccrylate as the active ingredient that's fine. Gel type is easiest to work with since it doesn't run. Have fun with it.

I just wasted $40 trying this stupid glue way, The moss was bubbling off the rock wherever the glue was applied. Just tell people to use fishing line off the get go so you're not gonna make a huge mess looking like some jackass gluing your fingers together before probably killing all your fish 😂
@DanielKeepingFish

Yep can do that. Or you can just use the gel type super glue so it stays where you put it hey.
