Duntrew the GUI in this video is MAGUI F. It's very good. I now use Anahnerbe widescreen in conjunction with TKSS18 Uboat compilation. These mods combined are as close to SH5 as you will get in SH3.

confusing as hell :p didn't understand jack shit. Maybe do examples with top down view of your uboat and the ship you want to attack and then show how you turn the disc?

Thank you for being so elegant in your tone. There are many concepts you must understand in order to use this tool. If you understand those, you wouldn’t need a top down view of anything… hell you can do it on a piece of paper at your table.

Wow dude, that disk makes no practical sense whatsoever to me. Normal people would look at the pointy icon of the disk and say "that's where my U-Boat is heading", but it's totally the opposite. Whomever made that disk should be smacked in the mouth. LOL

plus you could get the same info literally by just taking the target heading and adding or subtracting your desired bearing from it like i feel like i'd get more confused trying to use this thing lol
