Attack on the farm. Swarming ants

Army ants/House cleaner ants swarm my house and farm. Eating everything in their path.

I say no to the "hormigas" As a child growing in the costa, we had some orange ones, I believe they were fire ants. We called them "candelillas"

This was quite interesting. I wasn’t aware that these ants were effective in minimizing cockroach and spider issues.

In the Tolima Department we have Leaf Cutter Ants. They are pretty large and they can carry several times their own weight. What you first notice is a quivering trail of green leaf pieces in motion. It's a pretty cool sight and I don't see any stripped plants, so I guess they are just part of the balanced ecosystem.

I have leaf cutters as well. They aren't so bad in a mature forest but when we are trying to plant trees and grow a forest they are very destructive. The leaf cutters bite but nothing like these army ants. My feet are still swollen after having a few dozen bites yesterday.

@@GringoCampesino82 I have always avoided interrupting them, so I have never been bitten. I think the Army Ants have earned their name, so you should probably avoid when possible. Best of luck!
