You know what is one of the heartbreaking things that happened? Those who died, didn't even have the chance to understand what they were truly fighting against. It wasn't just the Titans, but much more than that. Much more than that they believed in, while taking their last breath. Are you willing to fight something that you don't understand or fully know the truth of? Or is that your ending catharsis... This anime portrayed the horrors of reality. No matter where you are, Which "side" you are on, or what motivates you to risk your life for; You will only know what is "your truth". Nobody else's. Perhaps, ignorance is truly bliss.

When I watched AoT years back I enjoyed it but it didn’t really leave a mark on me. I just recently rewatched and caught up with the show and it was honestly like watching it for the first time. The visuals were amazing, the fight scenes were insanely cool and GOD the music! I didn’t pay it any attention when watching as a teenager but it is genuinely the best soundtrack I have heard in a while. I can’t wait for the final stretch of episodes!

But for people with no empathy nor comprehension they will see him as "annoying" and a "psychopath". Spoilers ahead, read at your own peril. You have been warned, not my problem anymore. He wants to reset the world. He has seen with his own eyes how there is no way for mankind outside the walls and paradis island to coexist. As long as one side lives, they will be at war forever. The moment he kissed Historia's hand (she's royal blood and he's both the Attack Titan and Founding Titan) he saw *everything* that was yet to come. The attack titan has the ability to see the future. There was no hope. There was no happy ending. There was nothing. There was only destruction and a wasteland left. The future was already set, no matter what he or anyone else would try to do. So this obviously took a huge toll on his mental condition, spiralling down to depression and apathy to everything. However he still cared for his friends and people, so he was going to do whatever it takes to ensure their survival, their freedom. He's going to destroy them all, until there is not one left. Just like he said back then when his mother was eaten alive in front of his eyes, something *no one*, especially a child should ever see. He did stay true to his word this whole time, and that's both splendid and amusing. He never specifically said "I'll destroy all titans", he said "I'll destroy them all, until there is not one left". This perfectly applies to eliminating all of mankind outside the walls with the rumbling, so the future and survival of Paradis Island is guaranteed. Sure, children and civilians will die. But this is necessary, otherwise whoever survivor outside the walls remain they will without question want revenge and eventually attack the island again, and again, and again until only one side remains alive. Eren is doing what needs to be done, a massive purge and reset. He has successfully wiped out 80% of mankind and is now about to fight Armin and the others, the people who don't want this conflict to end, they want the conflict to continue forever. So they'll stop the rumbling and Eren will die. Because "good guys" always have to win, right? Give me a break, there is no good or evil in Shingeki no Kyojin. That's literally what the whole story is about. Nothing is black or white, there are no innocents, only guilties and "demons".
