And later on, he said that he was replaceable but Eren was not. It showed that he was actually not selfish and he didn't prioritized his dream over humanity. He was suppressing all his emotions, all his guilts, all his sadness, and it was all so that he could continue leading Survey Corps to the best he could for the sake of humanity. But in the end, he was just a human with emotions. I believe he was overwhelmed by all those emotions that came surging up altogether due to his realization that he must die there, just a step away from reaching his dream. And for the last time, he decided to be honest and told Levi all he was thinking. It was a callback to what Erwin told Levi in No Regrets OVA, "Don't regret. The moment you regret your decision, you'll let someone else to decide for you, and what's left for you is to die" or something like that. He let Levi made the decision for him, and that's why he thanked Levi for that 💔 33:39 Nothing is too far-fetched when it comes to cooking AoT.
