Fun facts. The little girl was surprised that Sasha speaks so kindly to her because Sasha is the only character in this show who always uses polite words (in Japanese) in any given situation, even with her closest friends. Ymir tried to talk her out of it because it makes people feel like Sasha was distancing herself from them. Such things are much more obvious in Japanese dubs but the meanings got somewhat lost when translated into English. And also in this case, Sasha used polite words with the girl, a little kid, which isn't very common and can easily be considered 'too formal' in Japanese culture.

Fun fact: Sasha was supposed to die in this episode/chapter but when one of the manga editors saw this he locked himself in the room and wouldn't come out untill Isayama agreed to not kill Sasha...

I remember when I first watched Season 2, I had already forgotten a majority of the side characters, because S2 took freakin 4 years to come out. Really the only people I remembered were Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Hange, & Erwin. But one character I did not forget was Sasha, because who could forget Potato Girl from S1? This episode made me love her character so much, the part where she decided to just stab the titan was so awesome! Gives me goosebumps everytime I see it. Lol

The author made 8 extra pages afterwards cuz of that, but again it was much worse than the ending. The ending was disappointing and unsatisfactory for sure but it wasn't the worst thing ever made like the people describe it as.

In Japanese Sasha masked her country accent by speaking formal Japanese with everyone. So it’s weird for an adult to be speaking formally with a child. Hence “why are you speaking so nice to me?”, but then towards the end she finally spoke her true accent after all these years of masking it. Finally taking charge of her identity from the countryside. That’s why the child had the look on her face.
