the brilliance of the scene in the restaurant cannot be over stated. sasha's parents should be furious, they should wanna kill gabi for killing their daughter. but instead they show great care towards her, making sure shes okay after everything. slowly gabi realizes that theyre not devils but what really drives the scene home is kaya wanting to kill gabi. kaya who took them in, who knew they were marleyians from the beginning, who knew gabi tried to kill her and defended her. her losing it after learning she killed sasha showed gabi that she herself was the devil. its such an amazing scene.

It's quite difficult to share views as we know where all of this is going. I can say that, as well as "Children of the Forest" is one of the most emotional but in the end heart-warming episodes, with all the wisdom and forgiveness that show in it, and make you say "damn that's how it should be, there's still hope"... The following is one of the most hated episodes in AoT. It's the first time Eren is portraited as a real villain, and the way he treats his friends was just awful to everyone watching, like he was slapping and blaming his very family (which he is). Levi beating Zeke to a pulp is the only ray of sun, and that's saying a lot 😁 There's still a lot of tragedy to come, for sure, but I personally found this last episode the harder to swallow in the entire series.

@Azeyral8 ай бұрын
@@Dark__Thoughts What surprises me the most is when we check all the boxes of authoritarians ready to legitimize the worst horrors on the basis that it would be to prevent them from happening. And then we realize that you don't have to be a Nazi to have this kind of reasoning, unfortunately it's actually quite common. A French historian specializing in Nazism has a formula that I find very relevant on the subject of the Nazis : “These are people of our time, and our place.” In other words, they are made of the same mold as us. We would be wrong to build a natural barrier between them and us. We are made of the same intellectual elements as them, and they have taken up things which are also constitutive of us. If we don't understand that, we are condamned to do the same mistakes again and again, even the old victims of these horrific ideologies. This is where AOT is brilliant, in placing the dramas of History back in their humanity. There is no Manichaeism, and there is the following of characters who try to resolve these contradictions. Wa can easily make a link between AOT and many conflicts in the world.

I think you misundertood. Eren was saying Mikasa was loyal to him because of her blood, not because of others feelings. Basically, he said Mikasa never loved him. That's what it mean, to say Mikasa's loyaulty is because of her blood. Also, Eren is not full of himself like Floch. He never said he was better than everyone else. When he said it was never a fair fight to Armin, he don't talk about his skills in actual fight. He talks about the idealogy and morals, because he think Armin's idealogy and solution is naive and illogical. In some ways he tell the truth. But it's an harsh truth indeed. One more thing said only in the manga. Eren explained Ackermanns are human who manifest titan's power in human from and benefit of a battle instinct because of past experiences of their ancestors inherited in their blood. That's why they can't turn into titans. It's like they already have titan's powers.
@Kaiverze11 ай бұрын
I've never read the manga so that was some great information you provided there about the Ackerman clan. Fascinating.
@seancarroll580311 ай бұрын
your second point is incorrect. Its clear from the scene that its not a fair fight because Armin cant physically fight Eren. He says before that they have never fought before. Not everything has a deeper meaning.
@Leroilerman11 ай бұрын
@@seancarroll5803 In fact, Armin is weaker than Eren in fight. But this second meaning is logical since Eren already criticized Armin's method during the flashbacks. Plus, Eren was never proud of himself or full of himself from the begenning to the end. Eren never had an oversized ego. On the contrary, he always has and always will be a kid with a very low opinion of himself. I can't even count the different proof of that in the entire manga. So, to say he has now a huge ego about that, it's bullshit.

Eren killed sasha. If you say he didnt you have to watch aot 10 times more.

Then by that logic, Hange also killed Sasha. If you disagree then you have to watch AOT 20 times more.

@@Kaiverze Spoiler: Nope. Eren knew she would die. He knew what path he was on and he walked it anyway.

@@Dark__Thoughts you obv have only seen AOT like once right. Cuz it's made abundantly clear on more than one occasion that Eren doesn't see every single thing that happens in the future. He saw the big picture so to speak, but some memories were missing such as if his friends lived or died, as shown in latter episodes. Regardless, he had to continue moving forward for everyone's sake including Sasha's. Ironic ik, but consider what would've happened if he just sat by thinking what to do like Hange, spoiler: everyone else on Paradis dies, including Sasha. As Mr. Blouse himself said, Sasha died because she never left the forest, she never learned what he tried to teach her, that we all need to look out for each other instead of not caring for one another. Yes, we see Eren feeling the guilt of her death, but we also see that from almost everyone else including Hange who admits that it's her fault for not showing Eren any solutions. If Sasha's blood is not just on Gabi's hands, then it's on everyone's.

@@Kaiverze Literally a gazillion times at this point. And I literally never said he sees everything. lol He sees the things that are on the path that he has already chosen, which includes Sasha's death.

I didn't know Eren pulled the trigger. And Floch killed Hange while you guys were blinded there?

How is she stupid in your eyes?

I wouldn't say she is stupid, but she is a pleaser, so she looks stupid, because she thinks she needs to cry and cheer in a really exaggerated way.
