An Anime has the ability to show how far things can go in terms of presenting a scene, a Mangaka is often limited due to the fact that it is a manga. season 3 levi vs beast, season 2 reiner vs eren, or the fight at utgard castle are examples what animes are actually for. (Advertising the product in a creative way) Thats why Season 4 feels off for me (I still appreciate the work of the animatiors), but my opinion.

Let's be honest, Wit would have taken this kind of approach towards the cinematography, maybe Mappa aswell but time shortage is too hard Wit even gave up on the contract of doing the anime in such short time

The question is why did Mappa decided to take this offer, even tough they are working on several other animes at that time. Also considering the fact that there had to be an obvious reason why nobody wanted to animate with this 8months schedule. It was clear at the get go that they can't fully realized their own version of AOT. They should have just dropped it and the chiefs would have offered more time, because AOT makes so much money for these greedy bastards.

That Levi animation is amazing. It makes me remember how animation is supposed to add and improve upon the manga source material. Mappa didn't have time so sadly they had to do the bare minimum to an extent.
