You never saw any because there aren’t any. I too have hiked those trails and camped for extended periods of time, and not a single “feral” person has ever been anywhere near that area. If they do live in those mountains, it wouldn’t be anywhere near the public trails or the national park.

Let’s just say if it were Appalachian people the only how they would bother you is if you were trespassing and they would ask you politely to leave while toting a gun… However, only a National or state forest would have areas seen in their areas and would be patrolled by federal wildlife management officers. There aren’t trails like that in the actual woods Ie someone who actually lives in Appalachia. Saying that in their scenario there wouldn’t be any footage, they would have likely got lost if they were in a actual forest…most people cannot navigate a actual forest

But it is a national forest. Those are regulated trails. And those who live in “Appalachia” live in houses, on roads, or have driveways. Those areas aren’t as secluded as you might think. There isn’t any spot along that main trail that they’re on that doesn’t have a cell phone signal. Mapping and navigating those woods is quite easy and since so many people do it, it’s not likely to get lost without a way to get out.

Moe I've lived in west Virginia my whole life. The mountains can be scary and there is people that live in them but as long as you live them alone they won't bother you. People in west Virginia are very good kind hearted people. More then likely you are hearing deer bear bobcats or all the other animals that live in the woods. But this was fun to watch lol
