Attacking Into The Pyrenees! | Tour De France 2022 Stage 16 Highlights

Le Tour eases into the Pyrenees with a medium mountain stage from Carcassonne to Foix. While the back-to-back ascents of Port de Lers and Mur de Péguère are ostensibly too far from the finish to spark any GC action, they should prove pivotal for those targeting the stage win, or potentially for those with an eye on the King of the mountains classification.

I remember that, starting Jan. 2013 I decided I would do a full year without alcohol, dedicating every month to a victim of a drunk driver. The trigger was the injustifiable death of Hugo Houle's brother, Pierrick. Today I got quite shaken by this amazing effort. There's always a story, and Hugo and Michael have some mighty motivation with them, everyday. Hugo Houle is one tough cookie. Bien joué!

I think I meant « moved ». Could be my very average mastering of the english language! Btw I am doing another dry year, this time just to see how it affects my form. What you are doing; facing an addiction and taking control is a greater achievement that winning a TdF, and there is just you at the finish. But it’s all the more worth it. Big kudos for being a better person, therefore making the world better.

how is it possible to break the campagnolo chain?
@grosmince
@grosmince Жыл бұрын
Funny because I broke a 12 speed Campagnolo chain. I know why I brke mine: I had it installed with my old chain tool that is probably too wide and the pin got a bit skewed. As the 12 speed is much narrower, it is probably better to install with a proper tool... Could be that. but also the electronic shifting going too fast from small to large front under effort while the chain is still at en extremity of the cassette. (crossing the chain) which would be bad that the electronic allows that.

Dutch Jumbo Visma introduced Total Cycling and Chess Cycling. They send pawns ahead and when they need one, these pawns fell back to support Vingegaard. @@kenkaniff8428 I heard it several times on Dutch tv. Chess Cycling or a strategy with elements of chess in stage 11: sending pawns ahead, let them fall back on different points to support the yellow jersey, attack and attack Pogi to make him tired, give him no time to eat and then attack yourself. Legendairy stage like Lemonds win in 1989. Do something when nobody expects that. Like the Dutch raid on the Medway in 1667. It was impossible to attack the English battlefleet in the Medway. But the superior Dutch fleet proved it was possible ........ so they attacked ........ and won. Same story with stage 11.

Looks like the days of respecting each other in the lead group and halting racing until a mechanical is rectified are gone. Rafel was clearly putting the power down and everyone was riding his wheels. Surely if one of them said hold up, they all would have waited? I remember the days watching races and if the yellow jersey said stop, you all stopped.

I'm no fan of TJV but that was tactical brilliance today!! They were amazing in their precision tactics today!! They sent him up ahead to make sure he got over the climbs and to make sure he was still there to bring Vingegaard home after the peak of second CAT 1. Not only that but he was able to get maximum points in points classification. PERFECTLY executed!! Very well done!! Whether I like them or not That was BRILLIANT!!

Can someone explain what the Ineos tactics are here…. They still have a full assortment of 8 riders but don’t seem to take the lead on any attacks…. Thomas and Yates are clearly below Jonas and Pogacar in this race but unless they attack early how do they expect to make an impact? Waiting for stage 17 and 18 🤔
@jonsinkkonen9393
@jonsinkkonen9393 Жыл бұрын
It's not worth to risk your podium place for miracle. Jonas and Pogi are the strongest,it would be miracle if Thomas and Yates finished before Jonas and Pogi on incoming mountain stages,nevermind winning by minutes. They would crack also probably and end up losing positions if they even try that.

@@hrishikeshmasurkar8434 Ineos just aren't string enough this TDF. They are my favourite team but I'm honest and a realist. You notice they are scattered all across the course BEFORE the big CAT 1 climbs come up. They're just not string enough. They are trying to keep their 3rd place position and IF anything were to happen they still have G there to try and capitalize but they are NOT going in the attack

If there is ONE rider I absolutely can't stand it's Nairo BUT I've got to say that he is in the best form since 2012 (I think it waa 2012). I'm not afraid to give a man credit for an excellent performance and he's been impressive but NOT the "greatest Colombian rider of all time" by any stretch of the imagination!

I feel we are seeing the podium in the order it is right now with maybe slightly bigger gap between 2nd and 3rd tho. Nairo MAY even jump into 3rd but will lose it to G again in the TT. I don't think Pogi will gain more than 20 secs (in time bonuses) before the TT and he MAY gain 20-30secs in TT.

Wow, Bahrain Victory-less couldn't get it done today. They're missing that, how do the French say it, "je ne sais quoi". But we do know - mother's little helper, PEDs. They don't dare with the authorities breathing down their backs. Let's hope PoPo start paying attention to UAE and TJV.

Don't you understand that the yellow jersey is the NUMBER ONE and MAIN GOAL!!! If WVA had to lose the green points jersey in order to keep Vingegaard in yellow TRUST ME when I tell you that team management would tell him to help Vingegaard and forget about green. Of course they want BOTH but if it came down to losing yellow or green they wouldn't think twice about keeping yellow. He's needed more to keep Vingegaard in yellow than anything right now and the ONLY stage left for him is in Paris. NOBODY can take him out of that green points jersey. He's locked in!! There's nothing for him to win until final stage in Paris

i think tour the france need to change , alone the fact that the "lead" can sit on a wheel for the whole race is just beyond stupid , a 65 kg mountain goat get carryd around till it reaches the climbs and than wins the tour the france ? bring in races like paris roubaix (sry for miss spelling) into the tour , remove tt bikes and maybe give bonus time for actually winning a stage ?
