Antiquing White Painted Leather

In this video I show how I antique white painted leather and bring it back to its original white shine. This video will help you if you are dealing with white paint that turns brown or and ugly tan color after you antique it.

Absolutely. Glad i could help. One thing i probably should have added into the video is that at the very end after your antique has dried, i apply one more layer of tan kote to seal the whole project.

After cleaning off any excess Antiquing Paste from the White Painted Texas, do you apply another coat of Tan-Kote to the entire project? Your video is great. Thanks.

Is there a benefit of "tan coat" over regular "resist"?

You can oil through tan kote better. It really comes down to preference.

After the antique dries be sure to apply another layer of tan kote

Thanks for the comment. I burn the dauber so that the fuzz doesn't rub off onto my project and gets sealed in. It doesn't look very good if that happens.

No i didn't need to repaint anything.. If you are talking about the part around 4:03 that is left over residue from the antique which is cleaned up with the tan kote and kew tip

@@AttackLineLeather so would the clear finish work the same as tan kote? From Tandy’s. My white looks yellow after antiqued does that mean I should try the q too thing after?

@@Jeweled_and_tooled_customs I have not used that finish so I dont have first hand knowledge of it but I would definitely try this method of cleaning the leather. Be sure to experiment on scraps first 😁
