@@CosmoDad she didn’t use your method at all. Her hairstylists used proper bleach. Jean Harlow was the original blonde bombshell and HER hairdresser created the first hair bleach so what you have tried is likely Harlow’s first hair bleach. Did you do any research whatsoever before this video or just remember an article from somewhere vague? It took me 2 clicks to figure you were wrong?

People please don't entertain this idea of what he's telling you whatsoever those movie stars worked with the most professionals such as Max Factor I'm not sure of hair people it's a two process blonding has to be done in a salon could be done in the kitchen by a professional it's too processes he has no idea what he's talking about please do not understand this whatsoever and when you're doing bleaching get advice from professionals thank you

Marilyn was dead for most of the 60s. She died in 1962. You mean to say when she went blonde in 1946. She maintained the look for 18 years.

Papa that was Jean Harlow’s lightener formula and her natural hair was dark blonde so was easy to bleach . That was not Marilyn’s with all my respect 🫡.

Update: I just found out those mannequins are made with heavily processed hair, so this concoction wouldn't do much lifting without heat anyway. The other would've melted the hair off (Clorox can dissolve hair in less than half an hour). I'd say if you can get your hands on raw virgin hair it'll show a more accurate result. Also, if this was done weekly as rumored, I do think it's possible it worked since you basically just made a shampoo based version of high lift color without the tint. I've seen in some vintage Clairol ads that their lighteners were just ammonia based liquids/gels before they started selling powder lighteners to mix in them.

I still would have expected it to lighten just a little. Half of what I do is lighten mannequins. SMH 😅 I definitely have virgin hair samples and want a sample size bigger than 1. Definitely giving it another go

This was a really cool concept! I'm so glad you were prepared to deal with that chlorine gas. I think it may have worked if you used a higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide, rather than the peroxide developer 🙂

Looks like the only way the mixture would work is if the hair is heated or sat out in the sun with it in lol. I'm not very familiar with Marylin but there's a lot of photos of her with hair that's a bit yellow in some spots or white roots with brassy ends, so I assume the application was done several times instead of one go. Wiki says she went platinum in '48 but I can't find any info if powder bleaches were a thing yet. The oldest I've seen was from the 60s Also congrats on 2k!

I don't mean to be evil or vicious in my last comments to this person but it's absolutely absurd what he's talking of with the potentials on blonding-hair something that should be left to professionals or people who know what they're doing from instruction. I would say Google 2 -process-blonding which requires beaching and toning, it's not impossible, yet what he's telling you is absurd ! I used to watch my surrogate mother and her friends do their Roots every month, it's done with precision and artfulness not just sloped all over a freaking mannequin head???? that's absurd you don't do the whole head ech time. Typically every 4 weeks the roots only.... hello what is he telling you its not even close to what was done with Marilyn Monroe's beautiful hair. You can be assured of that because it was even colored all one tone and never brassy, in overall pretty good condition I'd say it looked healthy!! And yes maybe it was done weekly it's possible but it was the roots only not the whole freaking head and of course maybe the whole head was toned or altered without bleach montly. The Roots are whats done monthly only..... you don't do the whole head every time oh my God your hair would break off. Darling Marilyn Monroe's color did range from time to time in lightness & various platinums sometimes a little more beige, that was based on what's called a toning process, the toners controlled the final color. Misinforming on such is results you see some know aday color jobs that you say oh is that supposed to be punkish, well that's okay but potentially I think people are going for a gorgeous platinum blonde so don't listen to tutorials on blonding such as the above whatsoever probably best to Google 2 process blonding to achieve the beautiful platinum Maryland look. His nformation is appalling an offensive/ an insult to people who created the 2. process blonding if your hair is light brown it is a potential that you can achieve a beautiful platinum with high lift one prcess colors avail nowadays, and even then you're only going to do the roots monthly. With good intentions Creative artist RC now even more motivated to work on my website to instruct people who are in need of such as this was appalling to me... like a Saturday Night Live scotch the sad thing is I think he really thought he was going to have an achieved blonde oh my God scary
