Thank you for watching! In this video, I am trying to see if I can actually crochet a sweater using the knit stitch, aka the waistcoat stitch.

Your sweater turned out so cute, it looks great on you! The knit stitch takes a lot of effort, but it's definitely worth it. If you ever use the stitch again, I'd definitely recommend switching out your furls hook for something pointier. I'm making a cardigan in the knit stitch and found I could only enjoy a big project like that with my sharpest-tip hook to get in the stitches nice and easily. Thanks for sharing your hard work!

Thank youu! And I will definitely do that because not having a sharper tip was a struggle 😂 thank you for the suggestion!

I have been crocheting for about 15 years and knitting for about 5yrs. I have made so many garments, accessories, blankets, etc. You name it. I have never made anything for myself and even if the intent was to make it for me, I end up gifting it to someone else. This is the third video I have watched of yours and you have totally motivated me to make my own garments and WEAR IT! I absolutely love how you wear everything you make. Love, love love it... Keep it up girl! You and your sisters are doing awesome things. Congrats on your book BTW.

Ribbing on the sleeve is the cuff, but on the body of the sweater it is the waistband. On the front of a cardigan it’s called the lapel. Of course you could call it the border too.

If you don't have a row counter you can put a stitch marker or use a piece of scrap yarn to count by placing it every five rows or so.

Lovely! Yes, I would TACK the collar down, maybe every 2-3 inches apart with TINY stitches of REGULAR THREAD that match the color of the sweater, that way it won't be seen! You could sew the ENTIRE collar down also with tiny stitches so it won't show on the front.

I, too wear sweaters all year. I’m cold when others are sweating. I’ve always been that way. Some people have the AC on so high that my teeth chatter! Even if I didn’t live in sweaters I’d still be making them all the time cause they’re my favorite!,

I got soo confused!!!! I was like.......for abit. Than it clicked. Yeh.😒 hi😁 I've been on your sister's channel. I just finished a scarf with the waistcoat Stitch. So soft and classic looking. I used Premier puzzle yarn with 8mm hook. It's on the thicker side. I was looking for a cardigan with that stitch and found your channel.

The sweater is beautiful. What weight yarn did you use here? I see the brand just not size. I’m trying to decide if I can start a sweater project with yarn I already have on hand. Thanks!

Nice sweater, but if I want to do knit stitch, I use a tunisian crochet hook. ( it looks like a knitting needle with a hook at the end.) You girls have done great work so far and can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Hey Kaye, great work! Question: for your sleeves, do you increase by two in the same stitch at the end of the row? It looks like you did, but I was just asking.
@HandmadeWithKaye
@HandmadeWithKaye 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank youuu and I increased once in the beginning and the end of the row. Which means I put two stitches in one stitch at the beginning and end 😊

I -love- the sweater! To watch 40 minutes of video, following step by step, only to find out it's $10 for the pattern to finish it is -unacceptable-! I'll finish it on my own.
@HandmadeWithKaye
@HandmadeWithKaye Жыл бұрын
This wasn’t a tutorial to teach you how to make the sweater, just showing my process. And my pattern being $10 isn’t unacceptable, it’s my value and worth. Don’t come to my video complaining because you can’t accept or afford that.

Patterns take a lot of work to write especially custom patterns like this one. 10 dollars is actually within reasonable as most patterns are between 7 and 12 some are a little more even. Those that write patterns for the public deserve to be paid well for their work.
