@pohnwohio14604 жыл бұрын
Your experience more or less mirrors mine. I learned the layer method for the Rubik's Cube about 1981. I bought my first megaminx in 1983. I had the intention of buying a book with algorithms in it. I never got around to doing that. I simply thought I would try to do the layer method. To my surprise I was able to get to the last layer with out much trouble at all. When I got to the last layer I simply turned it over and experimented with orientation and permutation, using algorithms I was familiar with. I was able to use four algorithms that I already knew to finish the last layer. To this day I've never used any algorithms that I didn't already know on the Rubik's Cube.

Given that you basically solved it with 4LLL you'd be fine skipping the beginner's method and going straight to beginner's 4LLL. There are 3 algs for EO, 15 for CO, 5 for EP, and for CP for now you can just learn to use comms. The first CPLLs I'd recommend learning are the 2-2 swaps (E-perms) as they're the most annoying and they're very easy to learn.
