If you are not claiming universal credit but claiming housing benefit this will affect your rent and council tax as it will be added on as an income, my partner of 35yrs who looked after her mother of 91yrs for many years--cleaning, shopping and all related tasks we were hit with a rent and council increase to the tune of 57£ per wk which put us in debt as we were only entitled 10£ of this money we are still paying this debt to the council but stopped the claim last year the claim was made in 2020. My partners mum was found dead on Christmas morning,R.I.P Margaret our thought's are with you.
