Having lived in the South before, I immediately thought of Mary Kay 😊 The heyday of MK feels like centuries ago in makeup years though (maybe there’s still a big following, I have no idea 🤷🏻♀️). So glad you mentioned the BOJ cleanser bc I’ve always agreed with you that the majority of Korean cleansers I’ve tried have been on the edge of uncomfortable (I’m more on the “normal” side). Good to hear you enjoyed mostly everything here. I’m getting low in my G&G A-game so I’m about to level up to the 0.1%! Which means I might need more moisturizing layers 🤔 ☮️💟🤗

I need to tell you about my LOVE for Bifida Ferment Lysate! So I have/get flairs of Perioral Dermatitis every fall with out fail, for the past 4 years now, and sometimes I will get another flair randomly during the year, but when I have a flair I have to cut out all actives as well as a lot of my reg skincare and other products (foaming cleansers and fluoride toothpaste and more) and I go super basic with my skincare routine as well as starting to use straight Zinc Cream on it too. I was doing that this past fall, when I received some products I ordered from Style Korean (I ordered them knowing I would have to wait to use most of them) and the Benton Fermentation Essence and Fermentation Eye Cream (came as a set) were 2 of the products I got. I, for some reason, decided to try the essence (maybe because it was my first time getting a First Essence?) even though so many things make PD worse, but you only live once right?! Lol Anyway I can tell almost immediately if something will make it worse and this seemed ok, so I kept using it. Within a week, I noticed that the flair I had had, for at least a month at that point, was improving! After about 2 weeks it was completely GONE! I was, and still am, Completely Shocked! Nothing helps that fast and that well with PD, nothing! So now I feel like I, 1. need to have this product at all times, and 2. want to find and use all the products with this ingredient and Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate as well as other fermented ingredients in them. So some products I really want to try are, the Isntree TW-Real Bifida Ampoule which has 88% concentrated BFL in it, as well as lots of other fermented ingredients. Last night I just found Farm Stay-Dermacube Probiotics Therapy Emlusion and Ampoule Serum on Stylevana and put them in my cart, the Emulsion is $14 and the Serum is only $9! For that price Ill definitely try it! Also Most of the Missha Time Revolution products have it too, I want to try the Night Repair ProBio Ampoule the most from them and then the First Treatment essence too. Like someone mentioned the Manyo Bifida Ampoule looks amazing but sadly it is a bit too expensive for me, but I feel like I have some good options to try out anyway! Sorry for rambling but I just had to share what (I think) this amazing ingredient did for my skin, and mention some other products I want to try, that you might also want to try! And if someone has tried any of them maybe you could let me know if they are good? Thanks for another great review also!!!

No thank you so much for sharing your experience!! That’s great to hear! I’ll have to check out the farm stay as well - I’m a fan of this ingredient, but I too would prefer to pay less (who wouldn’t lol, maybe a small percentage of people but most of us like to save 😂)

Well for some useless anecdata: I have been using tretinoin (.14%! Highest you can get in the U.S.!) with a copper peptide blend on top. I have sensitive skin a I've been ok. Just wanted to put that out there. But that's just me, YMMV of course, and I was also very used to tret (had been using it for several years) before adding the peptide blend. I use it with my retinoid because I've read that you're not supposed to mix copper peptides with the Vit C (LAA) I use in the morning. Anyway- you sold me on the antioxidant serum. I already love CoQ10; this sounds awesome!
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
Yeah from what I’ve personally read, I’d say your decision to pair it with tret vs L-AA is the better option. Wait seriously peptide uglies?? Because I have tried like four peptide serums and broken out in these shallow, not painful but irritating whiteheads after 3-4 days, without fail. (The purito one does not do that to me). I have googled "do Peptides cause breakouts" so many times my autocorrect learned it. But I never found anything!

Specifically “copper peptide uglies”! But it’s hard to say if that’s just another case of groupthink. They believe it correlates specifically with pro-aging (there is no data for this aside from anecdotal) Yeah so hard to say. I actually saw a thread on r/Asianbeauty where someone said cica doesn’t work for everyone. Which is a true statement as nothing works for everyone! But the entire thread was full of people saying, “I’m quitting cica!!” It felt like I was reading one person say “I’m allergic to peanut butter”, and then everyone replied “aaah maybe I am too! I’m throwing out my peanut butter!!!” That’s usually a very balanced subreddit (and among my favorites), so really goes to show that groupthink can happen with any group!

@@AliceintheRabbitHole Noooo, people. Way to miss the point. So, most of the peptide serums that didn't work for me did NOT include copper peptides. The only one that does work for me has them, but not in very large amount I suspect as it's not blue. (The things you've taught me!) And yeah, I honestly see that kind of reaction often. (Cica seems to work GREAT for me so far).
