@@FrosenHell I dunno, it matched up with transfercase pressure telemetry pretty well so I'm not sure it's terrible. The main limitation at high speed is that introducing a deadband into the Kgain isn't possible like in the actual R33/R34 system, so it's more difficult to modulate yaw with throttle. It's decent at full throttle though.

@@sethj3711 It's not really a direct implementation, HICAS has some logic that's not doable with the 4ws controller, like phase reversal and target maps. The principle is similar though in that it steers both wheels symmetrically, and you can produce a decent enough effect for most situations if you use the same control principles.

Crazy how fast technology progressed. Within a few years, the Nissan Skyline GT-R was all but eclipsed in the snow by the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Subaru Impreza WRX STi.

ATTESA's purpose was never to be a good control system for rain or snow, although it has some exception logic for them, it still can't lock 50/50 in low gears like other systems might be able to and I don't think it was supposed to.

@@thewanganfiles9304 Ironically the Mine's car has probably higher friction plates in the transfercase and some sensor modulators to provide more Kgain than standard. I think a completely stock ATTESA setup would oversteer too much with that power.

@@ArchOfficial ironically My dad had once owned a R32 GT-R. He used to do Gymkhana ( autocross ). His GT-R setup was nearly the exact the same as MiNE'S BNR34. 600hp HKS GT2530's ( Twin Turbo ) MiNE'S VX ROM Kit And other goodies like the GReddy ProFec A, HKS Super Drag Straight pipe, TRUST front mount, Project Mu 6 pot all around etc. He had 265 tires on OEM BNR34 Wheels and OHLINS Coilovers + BILSTEIN Shocks with Sway bars. He never touched the 4WD system unless it was to mess around and he wanted to make it FR haha. His GT-R destroyed many WRXs and Evos whom all understeered heavily on the slalom sections. The GT-R isn't always 4WD. It actually only turns into 4WD once the 16bit computer detects slip. It then shifts its weight and makes the car 55/45 and makes the car able to go around the corner fast while having minimal "oversteer" to help the car go around the corner faster. In a GT-R you can step on it full throttle and steer as hard as you can, that car won't ever break grip and is a fairly easy car to pilot and not to mention nearly impossible to crash into, the car saves your butt alot. Locked AWD systems like the EVO and WRXs struggle heavily on corners due to 4 wheels always spinning 24/7. Even during cornering. Yes the ATTESA in "stock" form is watered down from the factory due to Nissan. But fron personal experience from my dad's old R32. I can tell you It handles better than all the time AWD on the Evos and STI's. ( 4WD from the factory the GT-R smashes the Evos and WRXs in performance and with the handling aspect as well ). GT-R's as you said you would *think* would oversteer yet that's not the case. Many companies as Garage Saurus, Autech TSKADA, Garage Active and Garage Yawata have not modified their ATTESA and still set down below 55 seconds laps on Tsukuba. Oh yeah. No Evo or WRX has ran a faster time to mention it on Tsukuba.

@@thewanganfiles9304 I know how ATTESA works, I've been studying it for some 6-7 years now, making simulation models of GT-Rs. You should read United States Patent 4776424 and 5346032. It definitely doesn't shift the load of the car, dunno what you mean with that. Front load also causes understeer, not oversteer. Yes it can break grip, and it does it easily. If you have very grippy tires on it and don't drive it very hard it'll be minimized, but the diff can't even transfer enough torque not to break grip in lower gears even with standard power. It's one reason *why* it doesn't understeer as bad as fixed or FWD based AWD systems do. The Gy controller decreases Kgain when Gy magnitude is higher, which causes the "oversteer" behavior. If you rearrange the plates around and/or put higher friction plates in to the transfercase, and use modulation to manipulate the Gy sensor's outputs, you can get a system that's more eager to attempt to lock and more able to lock, which is what all the tuners do. There is also a possibility to use the Gx controller that's normally only for ATTESA Rapid Start to produce inputs for the torque split computer, that some more sophisticated kits do.

The behavior of the ATTESA E-TS Pro is well reproduced, but the Pro has been adjusted to reduce oversteer more. I'd like to see a better reproduction if it's so good.

The main difference between the standard and Pro is a different gain curve for K vs Gy, which I found and reproduced. It's to behave better when paired with A-LSD's yaw control. Also higher frequency sensors for smoother filtering, but we don't have any sensors in AC controllers so that's a non-factor. This kind of drifting behavior largely happens because the transfercase is limited to about 500Nm average, while a 50/50 split in 2nd gear for example would require more than 500Nm. So at max possible AWD In low gears, there is still predominately a rear torque split. I determined R35 GT-R to be about 800Nm based on some test results. This isn't the best possible implementation, I've since learned a bit about the AC AWD2 and made a few adjustments and have a few more to make, so experience might vary, but it hasn't and won't change *terribly* much from how it is here. Furthermore it handles with quite an oversteer bias IRL to begin with, check out the Tsukuba debut battle.

Perfect. Its all about finding that sweet spot in the steering and throttle. Maximizing the full use of the ATTESA system. Perfectly balancing of grip and drift allowing new world of possibilities. Or in the wise words of a certain blond haired mobile suit pilot... "The ability to make the impossible, possible."

I have done this stunt and weight slide in every video game that has box trucks and slick wet roads in it. The difference is i had wsad or mobile.... this guy has coordination down to muscle memory and understands the physics of the game all too well. A real true worthy opponent everyone will try to defeat
