The power vent in your roof blew its cool? Don't rip apart the roof and replace the whole unit. Buy a replacement motor on Amazon to get things started again. This video shows how to replace the motor in the fan assembly.

Unfortunately, the video doesn't show the way you used the Allen wrench to separate the fan from the motor shaft.

Surprise surprise! I have installed these at a few houses! When I worked for an HVAC COMPANY!!!! They don’t last long! U r lucky to get several yrs outta them!!!!! They’ll cool your attic….. WHEN THEY WORK!!!! 120 volts probably around 1/5-1/6 hp…. Or lower! Can’t remember at the moment! ITS EXHAUSTING HOT AIR….. So I guess the heat from the attic prematurely causes it to fail!?!?! Whoopee enjoy a short lived cooling attic! The best thing is the TURBINES! No power required! Install 2-4 depending on how big your roof is!!! And insulate & install those rafter baffles! That will cool your attic…. better than power ac volt vent fans! Solar motor powered vents May b ok…. But the questions still da same. How long will they last & what kind of warranty!?!?!

Thanks for the reply. It's what's in the roof so it's there for the foreseeable future. We used the turbines when I lived on the farm, but they're out of style in my current neighborhood.

I replaced my fan motor and it lasted about a month and went bad again. These motors do not cool themselves well and overheat and then the windings open up. Poor design.

Mine has been running since I made the video. However, it's in a northern climate so that can affect the life of the motor as it only runs four months each year.

Let’s all be honest here… This video was useless. All talking and no showing anything you did. How do you get the blades to separate with the Allen wrench? How do you transfer the metal wire covering? I mean, I can probably figure it out but why post something where you skip showing what you’re doing?!?!
