Thanks, I needed this today. Of my 7 kids, my oldest left the church and hasnt talked to me in a year. My 2nd left the church but still talks to me. My remaining kids are still in the church and are still part of my life. I love and pray for them all. God loves them more than me. I have to trust him.

I left my parents and the church when I was in my mid 20's. I left my husband and child. I went to live the life I thought I wanted. My mother never stopped praying for me. After about a year, I was able to see how I had it all and lost it all, but I asked God to help me. I went back to my parents and apologized, my husband took me back, my son didn't seem affected by it. He's now in his 20's and he's a wonderful son. My husband and I got married in the Catholic church soon after getting back together, and my faith has increased immensely with the help of God. My mother never stopped praying, and God heard her prayers. It's all on God's time, not ours. Visit the blessed sacrament often and pray the rosary daily. God bless! 🙏

We weren't 7 siblings, but still more than anyone else around. Sometimes the eldest just needs some time away from the family to find out who they are without all their duties and burdens we so easily put on the eldest without reflecting. Don't stop praying, try to reflect were the family constellation might have felt unfair or hurtful to the eldest. In our family everything turned out fine.

I'm a Catholic convert and a new mother to a one month old baby girl. My husband isn't Catholic so all the responsibility of instructing her in faith & morals is on me. For some reason since I've gotten pregnant, my faith has been waning and I'm having some doubts. Please pray for us ❤

Meet other young families at your church. We started a young families ministry at our church and we just meet up every few months. Now that my oldest two are in catholic school I’ve gotten involved there and met many more families who attend church. I’ve also started to attend a Walking with Purpose group and met very wise women with older children there. If I have what to me is an overly negative thought I say a Hail Mary to help refocus and recenter myself.

Yes, find other young moms to share your faith with and support each other. I went to coffee hours and asked strangers to go to a monthly Ladies Night Out l organized and joined a mother/baby group at church. Now all our friends are Catholic families from those activities

I remember as a kid fighting with my stepfather (who had just threatened to kill me and had jumped on me), I went out of his home and slept in the street; my mom chased me - to blame me for going away instead of accepting it. My mother isn’t Christian so she has no love for anyone but herself. My stepfather isn’t a Christian either. Now they wonder why their children (even my half-brother who’s his real son) don’t want to have a relationship with either of them. I’m the closest one to them, as I still regard it as my duty to help them and pray for them in their old age. I can’t forget what they did, but I managed to forgive them as this was weighing me down. Thanks the them, I converted - I’m just glad I turned out to be different 🙏🏻 all glory to God Our Father in Heaven and to the Holy Mother of God, the only mother who has never let me down.

I was blessed with two wonderful, loving, kind parents. As a friend told me after spending the night ( with no TV in sight) 😄 She said on leaving and hugging me, your parents really like you. I said of course they love me. She said yes but they like you and want to do things with you and take you places and play games before bed and pray with you. I was amazed. To me at 11 it was normal, we were Catholic, we went to mass, and we prayed together. I then knew not everyone had the life I had.

✝️🩸1 Thessalonians 4 KJV 🎺⛅️ 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Ephesians 1 KJV 🩸 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 1 Peter 1 KJV 🩸 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Pam : you are very fortunate to have faithful parents who knew what their biggest mission in life was ….be a role model for you. I was very fortunate to secure a scholarship to all girls Catholic high school run by nuns. The nuns required I attend religion classes since it was a required course. I was not RC and I didn’t have to be since the school accepted public funding ….but I had to score very well in the exams in order to gain entrance. I was alone in the classroom when my peers attended weekly mass at the chapel so one day I asked can I attend ? They said yes, but I cannot receive communion but I can go up to the priest and get blessings. That was my introduction to the gospel and the RC faith. Fast forward , years later I still attended RC masses while at university and before I got married, I asked to be converted to RC faith by choice. One of THE BEST decisions I made…. One of the best gift I can give my children , is to introduce them to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I told them HE is the only place to go for BIG BIG decisions in life ….He knows your heart and He knows what is best for you …. Me, I know many things but I do not know everything and therefore when I am stomped ….you go to God. One of my adult child is back at mass and he and his wife are opening up their lives to live in LIGHT of Jesus. I never stopped praying for them to reconnect again to their faith . We love our children and we also LIKE our children …we still vacation together and they drop in to help out when we have a bad snow fall. Having faithful loving parents is THE best kind of parents who will teach their children to live with God’s Love too. You are Blessed !

I’m a stay at home mom and I homeschool my four boys. I’m very introverted and I get irritated when there’s too much noise and chaos (I assume giving me 4 rammy boys is a reflection of God’s sense of humor..) I truly, truly believe that I could be doing a lot better and I beg God to give me strength and wisdom frequently… but every day I find a new way to fail. Please pray for me that I can actually become the mom God wants me to be.

I normally don’t reply directly to anyone, but I just wanted to let you know you are not alone! I have 3 boys currently (agreed that God has a sense of humor) and I struggle the same way you do every day. But I try to keep our Blessed Mother in mind too, and I know she’s got my back, and I pray for her intercession during my struggles. I figure from one boy-mom (Mary) to another (us), she knows what we need when we need it. And I’m praying for you too! +AMDG+

I love that your Mom called you Michael! She loved you so much and must have been incredibly proud of the man you became. My mother gave me her faith, the humble faith of her parents and grandparents. I still have her rosary and beautiful old prayer books. She brought me to novenas and we lit candles together and sang every hymn with joy and praise. At Christmas, she uncomplainingly allowed me to drag her around to every crib within a fifty mile radius, and she introduced me to the lives of the saints. She sacrificed so much for her kids and was a wonderfully kind nurse, deeply beloved by patients and colleagues. I feel the same way - we had our ups and downs as adults and I wish I’d been the child she needed me to be. But she loved me. She often wondered aloud whether she’d been a ‘good’ mother and had too many regrets. When she was sick, every night, whether in person or by phone when she was in hospital, we’d recite Saint Newman’s prayer and repeat ‘O sacred heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in thee’ together. I pray that she’s now in God’s safe, sweet embrace. May our dearly departed mothers rest in eternal peace 🙏

Thanks so much, Fr! Boy, did I need this today! I've been really crazy busy trying to make sure I help my 7 kids (8yrs and under) to grow closer to God and love Him and their Faith... and still feed, clothe and clean up after them. I've been hearing God tell me to prepare them for and give them the groundworks they will need to follow a religious vocation. I am slightly overwhelmed by the thought and just not sure how to lay that foundation and be the support they need for that. It is a comfort to know that I just have to do my best and God has the rest (and Mama Mary, too)!❤

Make it happen now when they are alive so you don't have any regrets or wonders when they have passed. When they are gone, you won't be able to ask those questions or spend that time. Thank you Father Mike I really needed to hear this! I have been praying a lot for my children. And I have talked to them about God. And of course they aren't willing to hear the word of God. But I haven't given up on praying for them. Because I want them to want to have a close relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm not giving up on praying for them. I remind myself of what the Bible says that the first are going to be last. And the last are going to be first. I'm going to pray without ceasing. 🙏

Thank you Father Mike for bringing us this much needed message from God. As a mom of two teenagers sometimes I grow tired. The Lord knows our heart and intentions for our children. Ultimately they’re HIS children and we’re just trying our best to plant and care for the seed of faith that will guide them closer to Jesus and Mother Mary every day. I pray for all the parents reading this to have renewed strength and wisdom in the Lord to continue guiding and teaching the kids in the Lord’s ways and for all the children to open their heart and invite Jesus to be Lord in their lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. Blessed Mother Mary pray for us. Blessed Carlo Acutis pray for us 🙏🏽

Thanks, Fr. Mike. I was blessed with a beautiful mother I loved very much. My favorite memory is of her praying in her chair. I now do the same thing thanks to the example of my mom. What a rich legacy to pass on even though we grew up without much money🙏🙏🙏

Hi Father! Loved your speech at the eucharistic council - I’m 62, where the time went 🤷🏻‍♀️, my mom passed in 2018, January and my dad passed in 2016. They both were together for 70 yrs! They had us, “the Catholic way” so my elder sister is 15 yrs older than me & my brother like 6/7 yrs. So we were like only children growing up. They somehow didn’t have children in between!! So I basically had 55 yrs w my mom and I did the same thing w my parents- sat around and talked for hours! I miss them so much; I had a business that they would help in anyway they could! And still for these past years, 1. I can’t believe I’m 62! Because to me time has stopped once she passed. So like I’m still in my 50’s! Lol 2. But there are still times I can’t stop crying! We could go head to head with mother stories bc mine was a 4’12” Sicilian & so funny! It wasn’t until my 20’s that I realized how funny and beautiful she was. I joked that she had a pair of rosaries in every room or in every pocket or pocketbook! 😂 But still I cry more than I laugh and am stuck bc she had a way of helping you think of a problem and flip the script. Thanks Fr. Mike for telling mom stories bc we can still learn from them even as they are in heaven. ❤

Thank you!!!! 🙏🏽 my heart needed to hear that!!! I love my sons and I know they love me, but they are adults who do not share themselves often. And we show up for each other when we need to be there. It’s harder now that one lives in another state, but I’m grateful for the time we have. Thank you for the reminder.

I heard the same about my son. I felt ok with him being able to feel comfortable at home even if that meant he was jerky sometimes. It was important that in public he was on his best behavior.

Thank you, Father Mike, for this video. It touched my heart! My son is going through some stuff and I've been trying to guide him. Not sure if I'm getting through to him. I have surrendered this situation to God for it's too much for me alone. As soon as I did that I felt so much peace. I don't know the future but I know God will be there for my son. I pray that the Holy Spirit guides him and that my son opens his heart to God's perfect will. Please pray for him. Thank you all!

This video was posted the day my twins were born, and they are still both in the NICU. Between trying to visit them, and at the same time trying to be present for the 18 month old daughter I already have…I wish I could clone myself! I was just talking to my husband about how I feel like none of my children are getting what they need from me right now…but Fr Mike has reminded me that all God asks is for me to do what I can given the circumstances, and trust Him with the rest. Thank you, Lord, for this opportunity to grow in my ability to trust in you!

I'm about to be a parent and I want to make sure my kids love God and stay Catholic. I see a lot of people who 'grew up Catholic' but apostatize, while our Parish is full of converts. I'm thinking the issue was there wasn't enough instruction/teaching of the Faith as they grew and not much was done after they were confirmed.
