I'm in Australia and if police are called to a dv incident the charges can't be dropped. I think it's a good thing because a victim can drop charges because they are in fear so that option shouldn't be available.
@fuzzylumpkins6034
@fuzzylumpkins6034 Жыл бұрын
Does that leave dv charges open to being abused? If a partner claims dv and it is a false claim and cannot be dropped, does it stick to the accused forever? Here in Scotland, if a person makes a dv claim and tries to drop it , it then goes to first responders to agree they witnessed no injuries (violent situation) and it can be dropped but it cannot be dropped by the accuser in the case injuries were recorded or treatment given for injuries on the day the incident took place. Not allowing charges to be dropped sounds like a way to trap accused in the event the claim is made with malice.

@@fuzzylumpkins6034💯👍 Yes! I fully agree & False R@pe Accusations need to have the laws amended Urgently! If you Knowingly falsely accuse someone of such a horrible act, you should be held to the same level seriousness as the act itself & given equal amount of prison time! Recently MLB player Trevor Bauer was falsely accused after a date with a young lady Lindsay Hill in an extortion attempt for financial gain! This turned the guys life upside down & he was suspended from playing baseball - Yet once the truth came out this girl received Zero criminal repocusions & treated everything as a Joke! Doing TV interviews laughing & joking about it! She'll probably get a Book Deal or something! Absolutely no remorse! Imho she should have been sentenced to min 10yrs jail - That's what Trevor was facing if found guilty! It's a Sickening Double Standard! In no way am defending Real R@pists Scum that should be dealt with very harshly but the same standard should be upheld for False Accusations! - Cheers 👍

I was 17 years old, when I married a guy from Texas. We were married two and a half. But it seemed like a lifetime. I was kept captive for the whole time. I wasn't allowed to wear certain clothes. I wasn't allowed to go anywhere without supervision. I wasn't allowed to makeup. In the beatings, were like part of the day. He would rape me, after he had been out with other women. And I didn't say the two years because I wanted to. It's because I didn't have no other choice. And I ended up calling my mother, at 11:00 night. And I told her I was ready. So she makes the long trip to Texas. She doesn't get there until 4:00 in the morning. My husband comes in from being out all night at the strip. He walks and he has a Coke and candy bar. He hands me one of each. And he says I heard you're leaving me. And yes, I could have sunk back into that fear. But I didn't I stood up for myself. He looks around me, and he says I should just slap the f*** out of you. And I told him go ahead my mother is on her here. And for some reason, that stopped him from hitting me. I left at night and never looked back. But these kinds of situations are not easy to get out of. It takes planning & time. Because every beaten, I got. And I really don't know, how I survived. Oh I know I've heard people say, well I would have just left. No they wouldn't because they're not in that situation. So they don't know what they do. I honestly, thought he was going to end up killing me. But I escaped and survived.

I think, in the first case of the moron defense attorney, the guy she got to plant drugs (I believe you said he was charged with trafficking) wasn't concerned about getting caught planting drugs. Let's be real he was already caught not to mention he if he was caught he could just turn states evidence, his concern was the amount of money he was losing if he planted real drugs. In order to make this family appear to be involved in selling drugs he would have to plant more than just a little bit of meth. A couple of points on the second case. First it is not unusual for a killer to play innocent and be loving towards the family. In most cases they are narcissists and crave the attention that they are getting, not to mention the fact that they get to see the murder site, dump site and the expressions on everyone's face when it is found out what happened to their loved one. The killer gets to relive everything they did to the victim every minute, hour and day that the investigation drags on. The second point is there is no rule that states the police have to wait any length of time before investigating a missing persons case. Granted it does take resources to go out and do a search/investigation on a missing person and those resources are wasted if it turns out that the missing person just wanted a "ME" day and decided to go to the mall or lake or something like that. But most police are not inept enough to pick up on the clues that the loved one are giving out such as the fear in their eyes on even in the tone of their voice. And let's be honest how much of a resource does it take to send one patrol officer out to take a statement and maybe take a look around? Get out there and ask questions at their school or work, family and friends. One officer taken away from sitting on the side of the road is not going to make that big of a dent in your precious resources. Well that is my opinion anyway. I could go on and point out so much more in both cases but, well, I thought I would allow someone else to use the soap box for a bit.

The teen boy in 2nd segment likely joined the search party in order not to attract attention if he were a no-show. And, or, to keep close tabs on the progress of investigation. It's not uncommon for the murderer to be a bystander afterward.

What I find disturbing with our police departments is after all the advancements in technology, they still insist families wait 72 hours before reporting an individual as missing. It is ridiculous! Unless you are a certain age group, it isn't a high priority. Seventy two hours is too long to wait to begin an investigation.
@adrialee8149
@adrialee8149 Жыл бұрын

@@adrialee8149 I'm in the US, and it depends on the jurisdiction. Some say 24, some say 48, others say 72 hours still. Either way, it is too long. I'm basing the time frame on the crime documentaries, there are still police departments that tell families to wait 72 hours

I work in the death care industry. Yes, a family can contact a cemetery and ask for the disinterment and re-interment of a deceased human body. There world be additional charges to cover the services and permits. Also when you "buy a burial plot" you don't own the grave (property), you own the right to be buried in that space.

Perhaps things were different in the past when you "bought" a burial plot. My mother's ashes were recently interned in the same plot where her father is buried because there was adequate space. With the exception of the cementary workers having to dig up a small space for the urn, there was no additional charge to intern her ashes there. And the laws may even differ from state to state.

There are quite a lot of podcasts and streamings that tell about these stories, but none that address the question: Why do you have so much DV which ends in murder? No one really adresses the problem which the answer must lie in the society somewhere...Maybe the answer is within the American man and his ego? And if you ask about it, people get defensive and have the opinion that it exists at the same level in all countries...I come from the EU and the thing about killing the partner or x partner...it is no way near the rate you have. Actually the crime rate is much lower, fortunately. 🙏

Ana, you are exactly describing the situation why abusers are so dangerous and also the question, "Why doesn't she just leave?" Women that stay with abusers are stereotyped as weak-minded, crazy, addicted and just not strong enough. They often are groomed into the toxic part of the self-help industry by being told they "attracted" their abuser, another round of victim-blaming and gaslighting. It's so important that "strong-minded", confident women like you talk about their experiences. And I don't think you should have tried harder, it would just have harmed you more. Him fading out and deciding to leave was the safest option for you, even though it may not have been the fastest.

If 3 people had not lost their lives , the first case would be hilarious. They both are so ignorant, it’s unbelievable. How did this woman pass the bar exam??!!! My sympathy to the family and friends of the victims. May they rest in peace.

It’s a shame her family had to turn detectives. I’m sure if they didn’t break into t(e car he would have moved the car and move or dismembered her and probably her body would never have been found. Thank God her family was persistent. I am sorry for your loss and the losses of the first family members in the first story

I know exactly what she means by being accidentally killed by the spouse.I am 5 ft dating a body builder he started body slamming me ,hands He was going to end up in jail for murder so I left.Before I did he punched me in the face I woke up in the closet my nose was bent to the side of my face I streightened it best I could with two straight hands.Yea ,great memory .my face was really numb and buzzing when I did that. Friends it never gets better just leave when the abuse rears its ugly head.

When my granny dies, which will be soon, I fear I will die during an argument with my husband after her death, because I will have nobody to turn too. My granny is 90 an is in Texas, im 52 with a teenager in Fl with an older husband.
