When I was 15 years old, I was given a Honda Civic for $1. This nominal price ensured it wasn't considered a gift. The car had been in an accident and had a broken strut. A local gas station repaired it for about $1,100. I drove that car for two years. When my dad upgraded his car, I was set to receive the family car, which was a significant upgrade from the dented and slightly rusted Civic. At that time, I considered selling the Civic, but my dad pointed out that some families needed a vehicle. He reminded me that I had been given the car and encouraged me to sell it for $1 to a family in need. So, I did.
Recently, I was talking to a younger man who sometimes works for me, Sebastian. He told me that someone had just gifted him a car because he needed a work truck and was using his car, which wasn't really suitable for repair work. This reminded me of humanity, what gives me hope for the future, and what the Bible says about helping others.
As it says in Acts 20:35, "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’" This principle was evident in my decision to sell the car for $1 to someone in need.
In Luke 6:38, we are reminded, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." This verse captures the essence of passing on blessings that we have received.
Proverbs 11:25 says, "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." This was reflected in my father's advice and my subsequent action.
In line with 2 Corinthians 9:7, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver," I felt joy in helping another family in need.
Furthermore, Hebrews 13:16 instructs us, "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." This verse underscores the importance of our actions in supporting one another.
By carrying out these actions, I was living out Galatians 6:2, "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
Reflecting on 1 John 3:17, "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" I recognized the importance of using what I had to help others.
Lastly, Proverbs 19:17 teaches, "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done." This reinforced my belief in the value of kindness and generosity.
These verses highlight the importance of giving, helping others, and sharing our blessings, providing a foundation for my actions and offering hope for the future.
For those that do not subscribe to the Bible, these teachings are solid instructions.

That's a great story. I believe passing it on does make the world a better place. Your right. I gave away a 4×4 mountaineer to someone who was homeless and needed it more than I did. Be kind and pass the love to the next person . I believe if you can help someone you should. Thank you for sharing your story with us. ❤

My blessing is I have been happily married for 26 years, and I gave my elderly parents my Mazda Protege rather than do a trade in.

Beautiful story. But I just can't help imagining some stereotypical maifioso-type sitting in Foley's office. "Stolen? Who said anything about stolen? It was a wedding gift from my mother!" Foley rubbing his eyes in frustration. "A brand new, fully-loaded BMW M4, Salvatore!?"
