Hey, I'm not sure if you continue to read your comments, but SUPER tldr of me: I graduated from UIC Law back in 2020, had to move back home to help take care of my parent. During that time, I kind of got lost a bit and ended up doing trying to get into a PhD program. I'm currently a 3rd year in a PhD program and am now realizing I made a mistake and I want to practice law. I have always wanted to go into Big Law. Do you have any recommendations? An opinion on whether I should leave the PhD and try to get a job? Whether it's too late for me? Any advice would be appreciated.

its Lawyers in China and the United States are similar in daily life. I wonder if you usually go to other cities on business? Can an Illinois lawyer's license appear in a California court?
@JackDuffley
@JackDuffley Жыл бұрын
I don't usually travel for mine, and a lot can be done from home. To your question, some attorneys can appear in other states if they get a special permission to do so, and it's usually only for a limited scope. Thanks for watching!

There's no such price set by government from candy at neighbors groceries store to $billion dollar of buildings or estates( whatever they are). You can always negotiate the price(or %) for anything. The price is set by supply and demand in the market of economy.

Would you recommend getting a real estate license for real estate big law? I’m applying to law schools this fall and am considering pursuing this once I get my acceptances. Thanks for all the info you provide on this channel!
@JackDuffley
@JackDuffley 2 жыл бұрын
I can't imagine having the license would hurt, and closing a couple transactions as an agent would probably be decent experience, but it's by no means necessary. At worst, it shows some interest in real estate in general. Having my license probably marginally helped me during interviews (but I also had other real estate experience, namely property management at a large real estate company with a fairly strong local reputation and an internship at a commercial real estate law firm). And no problem! Thanks for watching!
