It’s nice that these are available for invisible or mental disabilities too. I get terrible anxiety waiting in lines and have panic attacks and that kept me from universal for a while. This alleviated a TON of my stress and anxiety and I had a great time. I’m going back in September and going to ask for one again.
@adventurousadvocates Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my video and leaving a comment! I completely agree with you that it’s a blessing that they include invisible and mental disabilities as well. I hope other parks follow suit and have this level of advocacy that is so beneficial and needed. The pass has been a huge blessing for my family as well. I hope you have fun on your trip in September. If I ask you nicely, will you please subscribe to my channel.

This is really interesting and has definitely changed since we went. We are going back next year and have forked out for overnight in Loews because I am now too afraid to go near Universal's disability pass. Back then I had CFS for unknown reasons, we now know it's due to onset Hashimotos, so I can't stand for long periods as I will experience extreme fatigue and need to sit down or in worst cases I can experience syncope. I also have sensory issues but I can deal with them if I'm expecting the level of noise. My Husband is a type 1 diabetic (childhood onset) and needs his insulin AND immediate access to food around him at all times. And yes I've seen the arguments of 'just eat a candy bar if you go low' but oh boy do I wish it were that easy - he would not be able to ride as he would either pass out or be sick as it affects his brain function. Anyway, we explained all of this to Universal when we went and they said that their queues met all of our needs and if I really had a problem with fatigue then why am I not just in a wheelchair all of the time 👍🏻 They said their queues were air conditioned enough that my Husband wouldn't be able to experience heat triggered hypoglycaemic attacks and that he could take his required items with him he just needed to explain it to the person at the queue entrance. But then when we did explain said issue to people at the front of queues, they took us round back entrances with back lockers and let us ride immediately? (This was 2019) So at this point we were horrificially confused. One staff member made me cry with Rip Ride as they said my Husband could go and sit with his bag and wait for me on my own in the regular queue (which was around 90 minutes) and when I pointed out that we are carers for each other - he can treat me the same way I see to him - she shut us in a locked back area and we had to wait for another staff member who came out and pointed us in the right direction. And that is why I never want to go near any disability stuff with Universal again 😂!

I am so sorry to hear that you had such a traumatizing and unfortunate experience. I hope that your next trip is more enjoyable and the staff are kind and supportive of you. So when you have a wait time can you still use the pass to get into express lines of do I need an express pass too ? Can you ride the same ride more than once with it ? Our child is in the spectrum and can not stand long lines
@adventurousadvocates Жыл бұрын
If you get an attractions assistant pass, you won’t need an express pass. All you have to do is get a come back time for each ride you wish to ride. When you come back, you’ll use the express entrance to that ride. You may ride a ride as many times as you wish, but you will need a new comeback time each time you wish to ride it. If the express wait times are still to long for your family members needing assistance then talk to a cast member when you come back from your comeback time. They’ll direct one adult and the person needing assistance to the rider/child swap area to wait there while another party member waits in the express line. They really do try to be as accommodating as possible. Both of my children have autism, and my son has a very difficult time with lines, crowds, etc. The attraction assistance pass has been a lifesaver and all we need. We do take lots of break and remember not to push so hard, but we get to ride everything we want as much as we want. I hope that answers your questions.

I will say that we've had more good experiences than bad. But what other people think of me is none of my business. If I get a funky look or snark comment, I just assume that they're having a bad day and it's not about me. But, like I said, that's been rare and only occasionally happens.

What do you do while waiting for a ride since you can only have get one ride reservation at a time?
@adventurousadvocates2 жыл бұрын
We get a come back time and then fill the wait period with a ride that has a shorted wait time. Go watch our video about maxing your DAS pass. It’s the same concept. You get a comeback time for something that has a longer wait time and then ride shorter wait time things until your time is ready. This way you get to ride everything. Thanks for watching my video. Please subscribe!
@jessuplackney19372 жыл бұрын
What is the usual come back wait time this time of year?
@adventurousadvocates2 жыл бұрын
Each ride has a different '"average" or common wait time. I'll make a video about this. Keep watching for a ride-by-ride answer to your question.

How easy is it to get a come back time for rides? Where do you get them
@adventurousadvocates2 жыл бұрын
At the express entrance to every ride, there is an attendant who can give you a comeback time (assuming the ride is operational). It's very easy and you should have any problem reaching or getting a time from this person.

What kind of questions do they ask you?do u have 2 bring proof?
@adventurousadvocates2 жыл бұрын
No proof needed. They only need to know what kind of accommodations you need and why. They can't ask leading questions. You'll have to be the one to volunteer that info. So, if you can't safely walk up stairs or need elevator access then say so. If you have sensory issues and can't stay in loud or crowded places for an extended period of time, then you can say that.
@debyburak4310 Жыл бұрын
Explaining my disability makes me extremly anxious. In my country ppl with disabilities ger a card from the government, which states they are excused from waiting in line and then in different places they just present it to get a pass no questions asked.
@adventurousadvocates Жыл бұрын
They don’t require any documentation. They simply need you to state the need for the pass and reason. I’m sure if you presented that card, they’d be more than happy to provide the appropriate accommodations. They go out of their way to be discrete and require only essential details so you don’t have to feel uncomfortable.
