That was my exact thoughts... at this point ROTR and this are neck and neck with each other! Although the more I watch this, the more RRR is pulling ahead. Such a fantastic ride.

Definitely better than Rise of the Resistance. Rise is not a bad ride at all, it's fantastic, but it doesn't feel Disney. This on the other hand has that classic Disney ride feel to it.

I gotta say, the animations projected in the ride are actually pretty well animated for the amount of animations needed in the ride!
I really want Disney to improve on the ceiling within these attractions. I am taken out of the breath taking cartoon world, when I look up. I wish that something would make it more immersive. Anything! Painted on clouds or digital clouds and a blue sky. It would make the large rooms feel more like a lived in cartoon world, instead of a room by room diorama of animated shenanigans. The ride is going to take some getting used to. In a good way. I think that it will become a classic one day. I only wish that the ceiling will get some love one day. The theming needs to be from top to bottom Disney. This is 2020. If we can have ride systems such as this, we can have more immersive ceiling designs that link to each scene.
@blackpanther101054 жыл бұрын
SpoonfulForYou i have been thinking the same thing too! the only rides that are an exception are pirates (except in shanghai), haunted mansion, and indiana jones! when i was riding small world, i looked up and thought to myself how vastly the ride would improve if they edit the ceilings. it wouldve totally made a HUGE difference
@disthinker96544 жыл бұрын
I thought the same as well, and the ground actually, for example, during the sewer part when you go to the city the effect is kinda gone when you look at the ground and there is no water, if they add a screen with water flowing I think it will complete the effect. Otherwise great looking ride! I can not wait to ride it soon!

That’s one thing that really took me out of the experience last time I went to Disney. It makes you feel like you’re just in a big warehouse.
@zappy42524 жыл бұрын
So true. I think this ride suffers more than any other in Disney from this honestly
@averychatfield89474 жыл бұрын
i agree with that for especially the ending stars part. i felt like if i looked up i could see stars but they weren’t there :( but i did realize that that room was the same room that other parts of the ride occurred in with a change of screen so they probably couldn’t do something permanent on the ceiling rather than like- a screen on the ceiling too which would be incredible!!

Even though I really miss The Great Movie Ride and consider it the best attraction Disney’s Hollywood Studios has ever had, I was very impressed by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This video has showed me that this ride is a worthy successor, with it’s ground-breaking ride system in the United States, as well as an original story that makes you feel like your in a real cartoon world. By the way, the beginning was very hilarious considering that the cast member at the beginning interacting with Goofy had no idea what he was doing, making this since more realistic and funnier than it already is.
