Attribution Theory and Social Psychology Explained with Examples - Simplest explanation ever
As we all know, human beings tend to judge people based on their actions and tend to draw conclusions on people's personalities and inner character.
Attribution theory delves into this tendency and the process we follow when we connect the dots and formulate an opinion on the personality of a fellow human being.

what is the major attributes transmitted amoung the youth through social media?

Interesting! I believe "social engineering" includes pre-programming social attributions, based on some sort of purported compensation.

Is fundamental attribution theory and biases are part of Kelley's covariation theory?
@MisterSimplify
@MisterSimplify 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Apoorva. Kelly's covariation theory is a variation of Attribution and uses the concepts that constitute the attribution theory. It's therefore considered as a deeper dive into attribution theory.

Thankyouu for this video. I have a question isn't the fundamental attribution error just the same as the actor-observer Bias?
@MisterSimplify
@MisterSimplify Жыл бұрын
Hello! In actor-observer bias we also attribute our our actions to internal causes, which makes it different to fundamental attribution.

Thank you for the helpful video. By the way, I wonder at 4:34, isn't his behavior has high distinctiveness? John says hello to others but he just behave in different way to you.
@MisterSimplify
@MisterSimplify 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! That's correct. His behaviour has high distinctiveness, but low consistency (he was alright with other people). But this was perhaps not deliberate. Perhaps John would come round later and say hello to you. And when this happens, you'll correct yourself and attribute external factors again. 🙂🙂

@@MisterSimplify Sorry, I wonder that so John's behavior has low consensus, high distinctiveness (the PPT have mistake?) and low consistency, at that time will I still attribute John's behavior to internal factors just like PPT shows? and if John didn't come round later and say hello to you, will I still attribute internal factors?

@@MisterSimplifyyes, I replied based on that, maybe because it is in English so I can't fully understand. I mean, so, the final answer that the attribution is internal or external is judge from majority rule? because two of the three dimensions are "low"? sorry for bother you so much, your vedio is very excellent, I just confuse for this part.
