Why are you addicted to sports or obsessed with sports? What are the effects of watching sports on the population? What are the traits of a sports fan?
In this tutorial, we look through research and delve deep into the psychology of sports fans and addicts and analyse the reasons behind sports fandom. We also look into what the effects of sports are on the human population. And there's an interesting discussion at the end. References provided below.

Fantastic and relevant! Well-researched as always! In terms of the discussion, I think social media can be a ruthless medium in general. This is because of the near anonymity it offers. I've always seen Indian and Pakistani fans ruthlessly troll each other and their players on social media. This is mainly in cricket, but can be for any sport, or for any topic. England and Australia can behave in a similar way at times. And football fans are always the most violent in every way possible. I suppose people are frustrated, and social media gives people a way to channel their frustration. It can be difficult to be an athlete today, especially if you're sensitive to trolls. There's no escape from them.

Yes, the anonymity offered by social media leads to less accountability. Less accountability for your actions always leads to people behaving in ways different to how they would in real life.
