The zipper has some issues? The tent looks nice.

In general we find the zips to be very reliable, the tent does come with a 2 years manufactures warranty as well.

What is the suction pad end piece that comes in the pole bag for?

It should be for both ends of the central pole, one to protect the groundsheet and the other the roof.
