Erica has been tireless in her fight against an unconstitutional statute in Arizona which shifts the burden of proof to the accused. NARSOL has been involved by filing an amicus brief and the case may likely go all the way to the United States Supreme Court.

After spending five years in a Texas State Penitentiary I have found the only way to achieve reform is through civil litigation. If I could find an attorney that is eager to make money and address the violation of my civil rights regarding Wisconsin State Statute 310.48 change will happen. Only when state legislators are held financially accountable will there be change!

Civil litigation is an important part of the strategy to reform registry laws. Unfortunately, litigation is also expensive.

@@NARSOL an attorney can also become wealthy off of 33 and 1/3rd%. Most personal injury attorneys won't take civil rights violations against sex offenders. It looks bad for their business.

It is difficult to find attorneys because of the expenses and the complicated laws.

@@NARSOL the laws really are not complicated. It's how the states interpret laws that is complicated. They can use word salad and twist the truth. They can avoid ex post facto and the right to due process by claiming the ankle monitor is not considered punishment. Every legislator that believes that should be forced to wear an ankle monitor for at least 6 months. I have been wearing mine over 4 years and 8 months and it is cruel and unusual punishment. Perception is everything. Regarding the cost litigation. Personal injury attorneys only get paid only if they win in civil court. Most have become multi-millionaires collecting 30% of a lawsuit. If an attorney was able to win a civil lawsuit against the state of Wisconsin regarding the violation of civil rights for 181 wisconsinites I could only imagine 30% of that settlement?
