Something I don't see people writing about the ad5 is the outstanding triggering and dynamics. And it's so easy to set up with the modules wizard. No other module is as easy to use and the sounds are all top notch. I don't miss the editing parameters because these drums just sound good as they are. You don't have to spend hours to find a playable sound. And it's really nice for recording since you can send multiple midi tracks via USB.

I couldn't agree more! I have the lesser XD3, and the dynamics and sound are top-notch. Videos can't convey the outstanding triggering. I came from a TD50, and I don't feel like I have downgraded THAT much at all. Have you tried mixing the sound and adding a tiny bit of room reverb? Sounds even better

Fantastic playing as always Ralf! I have a question though. As good sounding as the Ad5 is, it lacks any kind of additional effects. Is it possible to hook up a pedal to the module? Something like a Hall of Fame 2 reverb pedal? Thanks.

Hey Simon, thank you! As far as I know, there is no dedicated fx/aux send. You could only hook up the modules stereo output to reverb/fx, but that would mean adding those fx to the complete kit. Kind regards!

Recently bought the expanded Artist set from you guys. I have to say the exceptional drumming on the demo videos had its share of influence. Really makes the drums shine :) Working with UPS to pay the import fee was a nightmare, but other than that, you guys currently had the best price on the kit, even with international shipping and all. Most music stores in the US were sold out of the ATV's. Keep up the good work!

Hi, great demo I am looking to purchase this kit in Australia. But how do you expand the kit to add the splash once you've added the 2nd rack Tom and crash?
@drumtecTV4 жыл бұрын
Hi, with the expanded kit, the aD5 module unfortunately is "maxed out" on inputs. You might consider another sound module with the kit (it is actually Roland compatible) for more trigger inputs & more sound flexibility. Also, on a Roland sound module, the tom triggers will work as dual zone (head/rim), while only as single zone (head, no rim) with the aD5. You can get in touch through info@drum-tec.de for any further questions, a custom kit configuration & an individual quote incl. international shipping if you like!

@@drumtecTV Hi Ralf, Would you recommend the aD5, or the eFNote module instead? Nice sounds but still noticeable the lack of round robin and more sample layers, ATV is the pioneer in sampling drums so if they make an AD10 module with more sample layers and round robin I’d be very interested, of course it would be double the price but after hearing the mimic pro and its up to 4096 levels of dynamics and its 24bit samples its hard not to hear the same samples over and over in this ad5…

Great playing and nice samples. But the toms on fast rolls seem to 'machine gun' a lot more than the Roland modules, or the Pearl Mimic.
@drumtecTV5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Scott! You are right, unfortunately the aD5 samples do not have any round robin / sample repetition algorhythm, so there is a certain amount of machine gunning if you stay on one velocity. Kind regards!

@@drumtecTV no rnd sample at all? in 2019 at that price and with that huge amount of memory on board?? I'm keeping to stay DIY +VST sound bank thank you. Or i'll go on Drumit 5/three. It's a pity, cause ATV sounds very "dynamic" and rich sounding. No words... oh yeah: you play marvellously well!

...and it really lets them down! Rivalling SD with the Samples otherwise (and seems a lot cheaper?)
@MikeSnyderDrums5 жыл бұрын
drumtecTV - Hey Everyone, The aD5 does have an algorithm that employs alternate samples for each layer. The amount of repetitiveness depends on a lot of different factors. 1- Trigger settings. If trigger settings allow the input to peak prematurely, the instrument played will have a more repetitive sound. 2- Some instruments inherently have a more machine gunny sound. Since we replicate the acoustic instrument, if the acoustic instrument sounds this way, the sampled instrument will have this quality. I want to correct the statements that there are no “round robins” used in the aD5. There is a robust algorithm.

Roland triggering (especially CY-18DR & VH-14D) is absolutely top notch. EFNOTE also plays super nice, and their modules are a lot more advanced than the older ATVs. You might consider EFNOTE to be ATV 2.0 in away, yet still the ATV pads & cymbals are top quality too. So many options to choose from 😁 feel free to get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for further assistance and/or an individual quote on any custom kit configuration including international shipping if you like. Are any of these drums and modules in showrooms outside of Germany. like in Thailand ? the web sight says shipping to Thailand. but the taxes or fees that Thailand would charge is to big of an unknown. if it doubles the price of the drums like it does for some other things. then it is a definite no go. you guys should have some kind of an idea of what other countries would charge if you expect people to buy from you. dealing with trying to find out in advance what Thailand might charge bringing a kit into Thailand. is not some small task, it would be close to impossible to get the answer to that. but nice drum sets that I will probably never own even though I would like to.
