You ever get that belt on?
@richardrajner25909 жыл бұрын
It's easier if you put a wrench on the back pulley to spin the belt on

I've been trying to do this on my Kawasaki mule but I cannot get anywhere near the other clutch. Going to check if it is the right belt or I am just very weak.

What most don't realize is the front and rear pulleys spread apart for this to happen and it is not going to harm the belt by putting it on like this as far as I know belts with cords in them don't stretch
@ramram98113 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. How many miles did you have on the kawasaki before you changed the belt? Did the belt break or did the light go on?

Hi! I need some help. I was riding my ATV when it started to make a strange noise and after a few houndred meters and 2 engine restarts it was no longer moving when in gear(it is automatic). I figured out the sound was coming from the belt so I opened the ATV up so I could see the belt. Behind the round thing on the right, IDK wat is it called in english, there is some sort of a disk that is no longer fixed,(you can move it with your hands). I think that disk is the problem. What do you think?
@mrhairy12217 жыл бұрын
either I'm a lot weaker than I thought, or this method takes some serious muscle. I cant even get belt close to the lip of the pulley. on one hand it is an almost new belt that got a little smoked, but still.

Great info. Thanks. I'm sure this is exactly what I need to do on my 04 Arctic Cat 400.
@carlomedaglia629310 жыл бұрын
This is exactly how i used to change the belt on my bike. The clutches were both destroyed and the belt was way too loose! When i replaced both clutches this method of changing the belt became impossible! If there is that much play your secondary needs to be looked at!
@houndjordan5010 жыл бұрын
Only thing I can tell you is that it's been almost 5 years now with this belt and no problems. So I have to disagree with your comment because my machine is still running strong. I use my atv 3-4 times a week here at my place.

Rolling a cvt belt can cause damage to the fibers and cords. Belt deflection needs to be checked and adjusted as well. This can only be done by removing the secondary and removing or adding shims between the sheeves. Rolling on a belt might work in a pinch but absolutely not recommended.

Did you read that in a textbook somewhere? Everyone knows that's not real life. November 2016 and still no problems with his machine.

@dennismundy318412 жыл бұрын
Good video,but........that belt aint adjusted right.There are no belt cogs sitting slightly above the secondary pulley.This may get you out of a jam,but I'm sure you'll be tripping that belt switch again,or causing premature belt wear.
@houndjordan508 жыл бұрын
Belt is still going strong as of 11-21-16 no problems.2202 miles.

why not just cut the old belt?
@benderracer12 жыл бұрын
ok, if you can do that by hand,, you should probably check to see if your clutch needs to be re-shimmed because the belt my be too loose,,,, when properly adjusted , i bet you wouldnèt be aqble to do that so easily.....¨(that might be why your old belt blew in the first place!)
