I've had the 5speed Vinson since 04. It's the best I've ever had . Shame they don't make a manual anymore . I'd buy a new one

Straight axle (just like the Honda). Every ATV has a 'solid' rear dif. I really like the Vinson - a good quality ATV that handles really great on the trails.

I'm assuming you mean dif lock as in locking front differential. No, it has a limited slip front dif.

There is a huge difference between these machines. Check out our test of the Kawasaki Prairie to find out more on the Twin Peaks (same identical machines!). The Vinson has a-arms up front. TP has struts. Vinson is a single 500. TP is a twin cylinder 700! Both handle well. Both work well.TP much faster.

Does the vinson have an rear diferential or just à straight axle? Between the vinson 2005 semi-automatic or the Honda foreman 500s 2005, which one is the best? The thing that I like about the vinson is the rear disk brake and the hi/low range and the Honda dont have that. The vinson have also 9 inch clearance at the peg and the Honda 7 inch and he dont have rear disk brake .My kind of use is more for utility (skid wood in the Wood etc). Thank you

@spforsupergringo1980 Bingo! Another very sporty 4x4 is the Prairie. It may be the most sporty - although that may be due to the fact that it's FAST!

No, unless you wanted to include the Honda Rincon but it's an automatic that can be electrically switched between gears.

The Vinson has a very good limited slip dif as far as limited slip difs go - I still prefer an open dif that can be locked when needed. Two big problems with limited slip difs is that the more traction a tire has, the easier it overpowers the dif and it doesn't work as good. And when it does, it tends to pull the machine in the direction of the tire that has the traction at that time.

@ATVTVCOM i am someone who like sporty handling and driving but i love the capabality of a 4x4 i believe the vinson is more about sporty driving and the rubicon is more about working around the farm ????

At the end of the Video you said that the Suzuki has a limited slip front diff and you said that it made aftermarket tires a bit grabby. You didn't really say anything else about the front diff and I was wondering if it is any good. And what do you mean by Grabby. Thanks

Always wanted a Vinson 500. I do own a very nice KQ750 that I like very much though,,,i traded in my Prairie 700 for it. Well I just missed my chance on an excellent condition Vinson last week,,,bummer! It only had 900 miles on it and came with a plow and winch. 2006 model, All stock and in great shape for $2900.00!! I wanted it for my son to ride with me. I still like a simple carbed straight axle atv,,less tech but easier to fix if ever needed. Suzuki bring back this atv please!!

The KQ400 is close. Has EFI which where I live is a big improvement for huge altitude changes and temperature changes. Could use the Vinson's additional cc's though ;-)

how does this compare to the 2004 Suzuki Twin Peaks 700? I like both of these, and can't decide which one to get. I will be using them for mostly trail riding, nothing major. maybe a few light jobs.

so what you are saying is the vinson is better than the rubicon and the outlander is better than the vinson and the kingquad which is the modern version of vinson is better than the vinson those are actually my top three atv i am looking to buy all in the 500cc category which one would you recommend for me i am 6feets tall 160pounds

@spforsupergringo1980 We've never had a problem with any of our Kawasakis. Any Prairie 650 or 700 would be an awesomely quick machine.
