The Can Am has a leading edge frame and probably the best suspension setup of any ATV. But it is expensive, has single lever brakes and a limited 4wd system. The King Quad has the smoothest engine in the business, a smooth, higher-geared transmission for lower rpms at speed, one of the best 4wd systems (locker) and a great shifter.

@as140672 It never ceases to amaze me how Polaris owners just assume breakdowns and problems are part of owning an ATV! In all our years of testing we've only had one problem with any other ATV and multiples with Polaris......So hurry and get the KQ and start riding rather than working on your ATV ;-)

Hey midwest, I did a lot of research on a new ATV before my last purchase. I have a 700 Prairie and a 750 Brute Force, which I bought both new. I left Kawasaki and picked up a new 2011 750 King Quad with power steering and EFI. WOW I am impressed I absolutley love it. I'm more comfortable during the ride and after,more confident while riding fast,riding technical,or riding far from the trail head. Power steering and 4wd engagement are tops.I ride faster,longer,and more because of this ATV. Mike.

my dad just bought a brand new green 09 king quad 750 with eps, and we absolutly love it. however, the suspension seems abnormally soft, even on the stiffest setting. also, the rev limiter acts up in diff lock, which sucks in mud. other than that, we absolutly love the machine, and we hope it will last us a long time

Hey Doug you just responded to an email I sent you [Tough Decsion] about my next ATV purchase. You explain everything in a "real" manner which I appreciate. I hope you get a commision check from Suzuki because you just helped sell one. Now my Tough Decision will be what color. That white looks good although black would be cool, of course dark blue is real sharp, and there is always camo which always looks good. Hey Doug I'll figure this one out by myself. Thanks Mike.

@christophbs It's the best of the belt drives in our opinion. It is geared(?) higher than the others so it runs super smooth. We've seen a couple friends easily surpass 7000 miles problem-free.

We would like to see a review of the 2010 Yamaha Big Bear 400.It could be reviewed as a 'bullet-proof" ATV;simple,yet modern....And features like Mud Lite tires,IRS,Sealed brakes,Diff.Lock,and steel bumpers,this machine needs to be brought to the fore. Your videos are very informative and fun to watch.Anyone wanting to be an informed consumer should be researching your reviews.

Hey Doug, I got a brand new 2011 in white, I love it. You have to ride one to believe the steering benefits of the power steering, Incredible! Obviously it doesn't have the power of my old Brute Force but the King Quad is so much more enjoyable to ride. Also the 4WD engagment is tops. with the exception of the gear shift being on the wrong side it is near perfect. I have 26inch Terracross tires waiting in the shed to put on. Thanks again Doug.

@ATVTVCOM I wish i listened to you and ditch the 850 4 months ago when the motor blew up. Now the frame has broke. had t fixed....(hole new one) and today we had to pack it out of the woods because the lower end of the wheel broke off. took us 5 hours to get it out of the woods...only 1 mile ride to. that bike has said alot about polaris 5 times to the shop before 1600 miles. I have babied the thing to :( now i hope it gets fixed and i can trade it in. for the king of atvs

@MrEarthmover Although you can, it's not recommended as you can very easily grind the gears. Like any gear combination if you are still rolling and slip it in just right, you can do it... You can flip the switch at any speed, but like 4wd, you have to be going slowly for it to engage. Sorry, without running out and checking I don't know the exact speed.

@as140672 Not real sure of the numbers, but it's considerable. Polaris are known to be gas guzzlers. We almost are always in the 15mpg range. On the other end of the spectrum my friend (retired and riding easy) has gotten over 35mpg on his KQ700.

Do you think 3000 miles is high miles for a 2011 750 KQ in the 5000 dollar price range? Thanks!
@ATVTVCOM9 жыл бұрын
3000 is not a lot of miles on a KQ assuming it was well taken care of. Miles are not as big of a problem as how it was treated. Mud and snow, and especially left sitting with mud and snow will harm the suspension and bearings. Also way bigger tires would be something that would add wear to an ATV.

Still ran fine. Honda didn't mind - they knew we couldn't break it ;-)

You know, I care that half the video is of a 500 when the review is about the 750. I thought it was a pretty well made video and was impressed until I spotted your asinine response to koolforever1's simple comment about the 500 being used in the video. If you're truly that thin skinned, don't post your work on the internet. If you can't stand even the most innocuous of critical comments, keep your videos to yourself and watch them on family night. You video was quite professionally done. Perhaps you could elevate your public relations to the same level. .

So let me get this straight; because you don't like my reply to a comment I should stop putting videos on the internet? Where was this profound advise of yours when I got into the motorsports industry back in 1992? Or during the 10 years we were on television? You know you could have saved me a lot of years of work if you had been around to point this out 22 years ago! I do hope this reply don't seem too thin skinned. If it is please let me know and I'll delete it ;-)

@ATVTVCOM A comment made by someone that believes in simplicity no electronics that are costly to fix when they malfunction, that believes in automotive technology should stay in automotive, i can see more shit comming like traction control, stability control, ABS all things that the rider should know how to do. Im all for EFI but again costly to repair when water gets in the way. I have a 94 king quad and nothing broke in comparison to newer more complex ATV's that been in the shop more often.

I bought a new 2013 KQ 750 AXI EPS SPECIAL ADDITION. And considering the price for EPS I am not impressed. Yes the EPS does stop the kick back from big rocks and ruts. But does nothing to lessen steering effort on slow technical trails. Matter of fact my sons Suzuki Vinson is easier to steer while going slow. He doesn't have EPS..The EPS does nothing to help you while stopped. It is a very poor system and is a very expensive steering stabilizer. There is next to no power steering when you really need it. Then when you are high speed fire road running the steering is so light it's hard to control the bike. Every little bump has you all over the road. Asked the dealer why there is no power steering when going slow as this is when you would like some steering assist and he said that's the way they are.... That's useless ....
@ATVTVCOM10 жыл бұрын
I think you should check with another dealer. Your opinion/findings are exactly the opposite of the things we like about the Suzuki (and Yamaha and Kawasaki) power steerings - it's easier to turn at low speeds and yet requires more force at higher speeds. Different wheels and tires could possibly be affecting this. What tires and wheels are you running?
