You changed you intro music! My wife and I just had a good laugh over that. I commented in another video that she would wake up from napping when your old intro played. Well done, sir! You're a riot.

The green is called solder mask, conformal costing is like a clear coat which covers all the connections and solder joints

It might not be possible to get the unit working as the copper tracks might have been eaten away unless you want to use Electro-coat fluid which can be used to replace the copper tracks that have been eaten away and when the fluid has cured it then has to be warmed up to cause the track to become heavily conductive.

Like the new intro music! Sounds like the intro to a 90s TV show (In a good way).

Hi Wow 🤩 I just remembered to look 👀 at your videos again, being as I have a Yamaha PSR 185 Portatone keyboard, other than I’ve noticed yes otherwise now Porta Sound anyway on mine I just need to solder some of the wires back really carefully, and I’ve too fixed some things before. Although there may have been an accidental resistor fell down into the keys 🎹 but will recheck. But my main issue is the power input socket 12-18v I think it says anyway I personally have only ever used 12v dc Adapters. As one of my Nephews when he was younger accidentally knocked the transformer plug 🔌 off my keyboard 🎹. But I didn’t worry too much quite funny 😄 in a way really lol 😂. So then I got a compatible one off eBay which works but then the lead was accidentally pulled slightly. As it was behind a picture frame for photos to go into. Unfortunately it then bent the pin in the socket slightly. So that’s why I’ve decided to work on it or maybe 🤔 get a new one soon as it currently depends. Thanks 🙏 for the great 👍 work your vids are excellent 👍. Bless you 🙏 and best regards Sean

My portasound has drum pads and many more “voices” and preprogrammed beats. There is only a handful of keyboard keys that no longer work and the drum pads are slower to respond. I’m the original owner, but I’ve had it since I was 13, so I can’t say I’ve been fastidious about batteries - but, being mostly on the bottom end of the socioeconomic spectrum, I can almost guarantee there haven’t been many instances of actual battery installations (8 D batteries aren’t worth paying for when you have a factory power supply). Thoughts?

Miracles. Bravo! Very nicely checked and rectified. I have a key board Yahama porta sound RSS- 270. SINCE LAST FED DAYS THE KEY BOARD STOPPED FUNCTIONING and even indicator is also not glowing. Only right side speaker gives sound when turn on. Please help me .

Hey thanks for the vid! I just bought my portasound and it works great! Only problem is I can't record any of my sound settings into the banks and I cant track into the melody or chord channels. The drums are customizable but are still unable to be transfered over to the melody or chord channels.

The kid is happy again :-D I don't think you're ready to go on tour yet LOL :-D Im supprised it worked so fully, i've seen horrible damage caused by leaking batterys, that stuff even eats the pins of i.c's, evil stuff :-( i have had to rebuild battery compartments with tin from soup tins, just because of bad battery damage, not "Souper" but not bad LOL :-D

Try white vinegar to get rid of the corrosion and battery fluid
@12voltvids8 жыл бұрын
That would be good for Alkaline batteries, but for zinc carbon the electrolytic is acidic, and vinegar is also acidic. Weak baking soda in water will neutralize better, however this board was already dry.
@umajunkcollector8 жыл бұрын
I've tried WD40 with an old tooth brush. And good old naphta (aka Ronsonol) is a gentle solvent. But sometimes water works well. And vinegar is a good solvent to have at the bench, works as a good rust remover to soak old rusty tools in. (see mepete222).

vinegar stinks, better use citric acid.

I'm so happy to find this video, I have one of this but I think the problem is different because the power light turns on but when I press the keys there is no sound :( It also happens that some titles make sound for a little time and then no one but the light power is on. Should I give it up for lost? :(
@micflynn18 жыл бұрын
I guess you know but others who watched this may not know, when you run across electronics like this that have battery acid damage you SHOULD clean the board with a tooth brush and Vinegar as it neutralizes the battery acid, other wise the acid will continue to eat the copper traces.
@12voltvids8 жыл бұрын
This works when the battery electrolytic came from an alkaline battery, because the acetic acid in the vinegar will neutralize the caustic residue left from the battery, however if the battery that went south was a common flashlight battery, a zinc carbon, or a heavy duty non alkaline cell, the electrolytic is acidic, and putting another acidic liquid on there is going to do more harm than good. In that case you use a tooth brush with a mild mixture of baking soda and water to neutralize the acid.Most batteries used these days are alkaline cells, so the vinegar trick works. Works good for cleaning capacitor goo from blown out electrolytics that have leaked too. Just be sure to use de-ionized water to rinse off the cleaned area after you are done.
@micflynn18 жыл бұрын
Your Right, I forgot the baking soda with flashlight batteries. The moral of the story is to neutralize the acid and repair the damage. A lot of old electronics (computers too) had the Battery packs that leaked and ate away the circuit paths. But like you said if your going to store your stuff, remove the Battery!

I have no idea the age. My son spent way too much to buy that off Amazon market. I think he paid like 200.00 for it, and it arrived in the state it did. My son isn't too smart when it comes to pissing away his money. He works, so I can't say "hey that is too much for that" because I get the "it's my money I can spend it on what I want" so I keep my mouth shut. Teenagers!
