Thank you for the wonderful opening and closing of ATWT. The Charles Paul theme is my all-time favorite. Also, you have a very pleasant announcer's voice. I enjoyed The Price Is Right promo and the CBS station identification. Brings back fond memories of watching CBS daytime dramas and game shows ever since they were all half-hour presentations.

You mean the "Mi Voix" theme? Kidding ! Isn't it sad that Charles Paul was never credited for this masterpiece... I think it was a legal thing, at the time. He was working on competing networks and had to use a pseudonyms Aeolus Productions, Mi Voix, etc? I think that's the reason. I'm thinking Daytime TV may not have even have existed if it weren't for this musical genius. My entire musical vocabulary is built on Charles Paul instruments, compositions, themes and background scoring from 70s & 80s soaps. This mid-70s ATWT, and other Charles Paul elaborate, sweeping, cinematic themes that Proctor & Gamble utilized, when P&G was transitioning away from the organ, are pure magic !

Aside from a few misspellings nice job! The old theme is a sentimental fav of mine. Loved your Price is Right promo at the end: Clever!!!

I LOVE IT. I wish this was the open and close used now for ATWT. The announcing isn't too bad although it's not exactly Mr. McCullough but not everyone can be.

@alexisdiva93 ай бұрын
Your Dad did an awesome job as EP! Am happy you followed his footsteps and are still going. He was much better than one of his successors who was driven to force out the veterans, resulting in her forcing out Don McLaughlin & Helen Wagner (Chris & Nancy were sent to Arizona) plus Eileen Fulton (Lisa's role was recast but that didn't work out so Eileen returned even though that EP was still there since she happened to read that TPTB were considering killing off Lisa in order to do the contemplated death scenes but ended up remaining until the show's end). After that EP left, Don & Helen returned and remained on ATWT for the rest of their lives - in Helen's case she passed away only 4 and a half months before the final episode.

Great job! Only thing is I recall from the show's beginning until about 1981 or so the P&G products credited as the sponsors were shown as drawings of the product instead of actual pictures - am guessing you weren't able to recreate the drawings but overall a top notch job!

I might eventually do my own remake of the GL credits, but I have my sights set on another remake of my Edge of Night credits. I wasn't altogether satisfied with Windows Movie Maker especially after it decided not to work for me anymore. I want to get some real footage of the Cincinnati skyline and possibly remake the theme music, too.

I noticed on the 'closing credits' Eileen Fulton's is now the last one but it no longer reads, 'And Eileen Fulton as Lisa Grimaldi.'
@alexisdiva93 ай бұрын
At the time of the episode (judging by Michael Nader's tenure time and Barbara Rodell being credited as Joyce Hughes) which would be circa 1977-1978, Eileen Fulton's Lisa was married to Grant Colman (formerly married to Joyce) so her credit ran as Lisa Shea Colman. Lisa didn't marry Eduardo Grimaldi until 1994 or early 1995 and in any case starting in the mid 80's her credit at the end always said And Eileen Fulton as Lisa (period - she had married so many times by then I don't blame them). This is similar to what they did on Dynasty starting with season 3 when the credits ended as Joan Collins as Alexis (after all, Dame Joan is only a little over 3 months older than Eileen is).

Wow, professor1966, how in the world did you recreate the music?? Is this orchestral theme available on CD or LP? It's just so amazing that I hate to tell you that PROCTOR is misspelled...it should be PROCTER instead. But I can't quibble after all of your hard work. You rock!

@alexisdiva94 жыл бұрын
Makes perfect sense to me; Lisa didn't marry Eduardo Grimaldi until 1994-1995; she married Earl Mitchell in the late 80's & married Whit McCall circa 1981. Am guessing by this list consisting of a wonderful cast the episode was circa 1978 since it had a pre-Dynasty Michael Nader as Kevin Thompson & his character was sadly killed off around 1978. Also, Joyce's surname on the list is Hughes since she married Donald I think 1977 - they divorced 1980 after she returned from being presumed killed in an auto accident in July 1979. Great job recreating this! ;)

@59frex To my knowledge, the only place where you can hear a FULL, CLEAR copy of the 1972-1981 closing theme is at the Television Production Music Museum site (Pay site, BTW). Notice I said "HEAR", not "DOWNLOAD"... no d/l whatsoever there (cuts down on copyright infringement cases)
