They did try to contact Damian(Luke's biological father), but they weren't able to find him. Damian did get word of it, but after Luke had his surgery. Damian said so, when he showed up 6 months later.

I think this guy looks so much like Van. He even acts as Luke the same way as Van Hansis

The only relative that could've helped Luke would've been Damian, Luke's BIOLOGICAL father. Unfortunately, they couldn't find Damian. Damian showed up 6 months later, telling Lily that he was notified of Luke's condition but when he was ready to leave to help, Luke had already had a kidney transplant.

This original actor who played Luke was the son of Kim Zimmer, who played Reva on Guiding Light.

i think it clever how Van Hansis story started after his kidney trasplant and his story end with Reids heart given to Chris anyone else thinks that thats cool? well not cool but u know??...

I only got into ATWT a few months ago and this is the first time I've watched a clip with anyone other than Van playing Luke. As a newcomer, I find it really strange imagining anyone else playing the part! Holden looks hot :)

Without a doubt, Van Hansis is way way better than this kid ever was. The show sure made an excellent cast change.

I think its a good thing that they recast Luke because this actor looks a little too much like Zack Roerig who played Casey later on. It would be confusing :)

If Luke does get a new kidney, they're gonna have to make sure that they keep him away from alcohol. It's very dangerous for a person with only 1 kidney to drink alcohol and/or get drunk.

@lucasgrabeellover545 This actor quit to focus more on his schoolwork and I also think he didn't like the idea of Luke turning out to be gay. Some actors can handle roles like that but others can't because they're too uncomfortable. It can be the same for a gay actor playing a straight character. Part of the reason why Van Hansis was able to handle it is because Van Hansis really is gay in real-life.

Funny you say that considering Jake's role in Animal Kingdom right now. I think that show requires a lot more from him playing Deran than 'As the world turns' would have from him playing Luke. I think TNT shows a lot more nudity, sex and kissing between two men than daytime soaps do.

nope 1. i think they were too little and 2. if lilly wasnt a match then they wouldnt be cause theyre only half siblings the only match would be damien (lukes bio dad)
