Jake Weary who plays Luke in this clip is the son of daytime legend Kim Zimmer better known as Guiding Light's Reva Shayne and more recently Echo DiSavoy on One Life to Live. Jake was 15 at the time this clip was shot and left the show because he couldn't commit to the long hours necessary for the character with the new storylines that would follow. Van Hansis, then 23, was cast around that time and begun his run with the healing of the transplant and the gay storyline.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I think its the lighting and Jake's lips that make him resemble Van. He looks exactly like him at 3:12.

Does anyone else think Jake looks a bit like Van? In this hospital setting he even sounds like him a tad with that low gravely tone. Van gets it sometimes too. I think that's kinda scary but freaking awesome! The way things are going now though, Luke's gonna end up back in this same situation!

ya but if you take in account that this is a soap opera most of the characters have been burned,beaten,stabbed,and had surgery they would be horribly disfigured from all the scars and it just easier to leave them be

does anyone know where i can get the storyline of why he needed a kidney transplant. i really just now got into the character of luke and i love it!!!

I'm going through all of Luke's storylines for class, and I have the same question. Whats the story that led to him needing the transplants? Also, this Keith character is a huge creep. He'd have been a perfect match for Stacey from OLTL considering she did the exact same thing to Gigi and Rex when they were trying to save Shane :/
