One correction: Balts and Slavs aren't brothers. In many ways, they're completely different. Some of the regions in the Baltic States have been influenced by Slavic nations in later centuries. If you studied Latvian and Estonian ancient singing there is a lot in common with Scandinavian folk. Try checking folk group DELVE.

Kneeinface L that's nice. We're all cousins if you start analyzing the DNA :) Yet you should also remember a lot of countries in Europe are very mixed and have a vast variety of ethnicities and cultures, and historical influences regardless of their size.

@@marthamannenbach6096 Vēl ir jāpiezīmē tas,ka līvu valoda ir diezgan ietekmējusi latviešu valodu. Baltu (zemgaļu val.pārsvarā)+ līvu (somu-ugru val.saime)= latviešu literārā valoda. Tāpēc mēs esam līdzīgi,bet tomēr intonācijas un vārdu uzsvaru ziņā mēs skanam savādāk kā lietuvieši. Igauņiem,piemēram, ir tautas dziesma,kas skan kā Pūt vējiņi, bet ar Igauņu val. tekstu. Savkārt Pūt vējiņi ir Līvu tautas dziesma, ko pārlika latviešu literārajā valodā un pašu melodiju aranžēja nedaudz savādāk kā orģinālā. Latvieši vēsturiski un valodu ziņā ir vienoti gan ar lietuviešiem, gan igauņiem. Man patīk mūsu literārā valoda, visas latviešu izloksnes un arī ļoti sarežģītā ritmiski savādākā līvu valoda, gribēt to saprast. Par Tautumeitām runājot, viņas ir vienas no labākajām un mūsdienīgākajām latviešu senās un mūsdienu kultūras popularizētājām gan Latvijā, gan ārzemēs. Paldies viņām par dziesmām :)
