I used a 6mm diameter, I got it on amazon, but I have also seen 5mm, and even a tiny 4mm! (i think that might be hard to fenagle, tho, LOL)

This pendant is just lovely! How do you polish the pendant after you oxidize? Do you use a tumbler? Or do you just hand-polish with a silver cloth? It is so shiny! Thank you for the tutorial :)

I do both! I tumble it with stainless steel shot after it is created, and then polish with a jewelry polishing cloth after it is darkened.

Thank you! Alas, no, plated wire will ball up, but it will be copper. For plated wire, you can simply add little loops or spirals! You have the freedom to get creative!

You oxidized with LOS, how do you polish or finish after that?

I use a jewelry polishing cloth! I have some from hobby lobby, some from Fire Mountain Gems, and some from Amazon. They are mostly the same, all soft cloths with polishing agents in them. You just rub the cloth on the piece, and it makes them shiny again!

Suspend your cleaned and completed piece with fishing line in a canning jar, with one inch of ammonia. After several minutes in the fume chamber(jar), the patina develops and color appears.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I made this tonight for a birthday present for a friend. She has a June birthday so I was going to use a pearl, but I found a 5mm rainbow moonstone to use. Moonstone is also a June birthstone and it tolerates liver of sulfur which pearls do not. I had to substitute 26 ga for the 30 ga since it's what I had on hand. I had trouble trying to keep the wire swirls part from sliding up and down the 16 ga frame. I tried to tighten it up, but I kept making more tool marks that needed polishing out. Did I do something wrong? It looks OK. But it still wants to slide a bit. Thanks again, Diane

Sometimes the wire will slide, and it's nothing you did! When that happens to me, I wrap the thin working wire (26g for yours) around the 16g a few times, just underneath one of the 20g swirls. It acts like a "stop" to keep it from being able to slide.

Hello! No, this is sterling silver, it will not rust. Sterling silver can develope a dark patina over time, but polishes off easily with a cloth
